The third in the Tiffany Aching series, Wintersmith is a bit of a strange one really. Sure, it's still all about Tiffany, but it's also about many other things too... the Dance of the seasons when Winter and Summer swap places, it's about Annagramma's quest for justification for her attitude and her journey into true witchhood, it's about The Nac Mac Feegles and their leader Rob Anybody's journey towards knowin' the way of the Wordin'... and we get more insight into the ever-present, and popular, Granny Esme Weatherwax and Nanny Gytha Ogg, made famous throughout almost the entire Discworld series.
With plenty of thought-provoking humour, action, unintentional romance and mystical travel, this is a rollicking delight of Pratchett's literary art. it also happens to come across as a tale of how young folk reach towards their eventual maturity and destiny... even if it sometimes take a swarm of red-headed, blue-skinned boots in the butt to get them there...
Overall, yet another winner from TP imho, and a valued addition to the collected works of one of the most popular writers in today's literary world. Over 20 years and still going strong... keep it up Terry!
