Henry Bob Bobbalich product reviews

Proud to promote NZ productsHenry Bo Bobbalich, though he was small, could reach up to places unreached by the tall, for Henry could climb the most towering wall, and never, not ever, did Henry Bob fall.

But young Henry's spirits plunge when one day he is forbidden to climb. Will Henry Bob ever feel on top of the world again?

I have, at home, three children who love climbing, one hampered by her fear of heights once she sees the distance to the ground, and one hampered by her small stature, but all 3 know that climbing is encouraged and so I knew a book about a child who lives to climb would be perfect for them. Sometimes rhyming books don't quite rhyme, but these all went together beautifully and had the added benefit of being come really good examples as my kids discover how to rhyme. The story is done really well and it moves along at a good pace.

The illustrations are lovely, there are parts which are lovely and simplistic and some bits have a lovely amount of detail. I read this book to my nine, seven and five year old kids and all were hooked on the tale. My nine year old said that his favourite part involved a rescue (I don't want to spoil it) and that he loved this book ten hundred and fifty thousand out of ten, so very high praise. Both of my other children also gave it full makes out of ten.

I thought that this was a fun and delightful book, good for the kids and done rather lovely. Its a book to keep, that's for sure.

Product image for Dancing with Cranes: On location with a New Zealand wildlife film-makerAlison Ballance has bumped over the Mongolian Steppe in search of wild horses; camped in mud when trying to film New Zealand's rare, nocturnal kakapo; she's flown deep into the Himalayas where demoiselle cranes migrate across the world's highest mountains. The intrepid wildlife film-maker has travelled to some of the earth's remotest places for footage of our endangered species.
