This is definitely the best of all of the American Horror Stories. It shows what can happen when unsettled beings live with three very disfunctional family members. The acting and casting is top notch and every week I could not wait to watch the next gribbing continual episode.

This is one of the few programmes that surprised me. I usually can work out what is happening or in this case happened but in this show I had no idea and when the major character death was revealed I was blown away. It had you guessing all the time and wandering what would happen next.

It is not exactly an horror nothing seriously disturbing happens (unlike the future adaptions) but it is more a mind twister. I loved finding out about the characters pasts and wandering if the husband/father would subcome to his desires. You were routing for the family to pull through but I think it was a little too late and too much had happened in the past.

Jessica Lange was awesome in this and she has only gotten better as the show has evolved. It is just a shame that Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton never returned for the future shows. This is definitely a gripping show and well worth a watch.

My dad had recommended this to me and my husband but we didn't manage to get around to watching it until we borrowed it on DVD, having watched all seasons to date you could easily say we are hooked.

The Harmon family, consisting of Ben and Vivien and their daughter Violet, have moved into their new home in a bid to have a change of scenery and to try and fix their broken marriage. What they don't realize though is that they have moved into the local 'murder house' and that there is various ghosts and evil going on's happening in the house.

This is one very strange tv show that is pretty much a ten hour (give or take) long horror movie with some thriller elements going on throughout at the same time. The acting is brilliant, everyone is believable and each plays their character perfectly, I also loved seeing an actor with down syndrome having a decent role in the season. It's hard to say much without giving too much of the show away, but with flashbacks, hints, teases and lots going on there is enough to keep you entertained and interested in the show and it's hard to stop watching it.

This was a brilliant first season and one we'll be watching again.
