Take the ouchies out of combing baby's hair after washing. Yummy jungle fruit scent makes hugs even more delicious.
After shampooing spray Earthwise detangler lightly over baby's hair, then use a wide tooth comb or brush to detangle. Start at the ends and work your way up. No rinsing required. Also perfect for taming a morning bed head or protecting hair prior to swimming.
My daughter was very excited when she saw me come home with this Earthwise Detangler. We've used other detangler products and found them to be pretty good but I saw this one and really wanted to give it a go.
Miss almost 5 years old is trying her hardest to grow her hair "just like Rapunzel" and it's now sitting just above her bottom. As you can imagine, we spend quite a bit of time brushing it and trying to get all of the knots out. I've explained to her that it's the price of having long hair and she's very good at sitting still while I work on it but I know if it was faster she'd be much happier.
Using this product is a breeze but I found you do need to wet the hair quite substantially to make it easier to comb/brush through. I find it so much easier to style my daughters hair with this product also. Once it's knot free I can manipulate it however I want and it'll stay looking good for pretty much the whole day.
My daughter is very happy with the finished result too and loves the fact that it makes brushing her hair virtually pain free and so much faster.
The price of this product is pretty reasonable considering how long it will last. We've been using it every day, sometimes twice a day, for 2 weeks now and there still feels like there is heaps in the bottle. Once we eventually run out, I'll definitely be buying another bottle.
My 2 yo daughter has a very fine hair and keeps getting knots and tangled. The day she learned to walk, that is the time she learned to run away from me every hair brush/combing time because she gets hurt. I know how it feels that's why I tried my best not to pull her hair and just do it very slow. But it get worst every time, very frustrating and stressful too when it should be easy and my daughter should enjoy it.
At first we only use the regular baby shampoo but when we noticed all those knots and tangles, we shifted to Johnson Detangler Shampoo and Conditioner. It is good but only works after bath but came the following morning here comes a stressful hairbrushing time again, and to our frustrations the whole day will pass and we didn't brush her hair.
One day, I saw on the KMIWIreviews facebook page a review about Earthwise detangler spray and became very interested. Although I read good things about it, I still can't say it will be also good for my baby's hair until we have tried it. So the day we went to the grocery we bought one for her.
We are very eager to try it as well as my daughter as she gets attracted to the bottle with the hippo pic on it. She also like the spraying sound as she giggles every spray. I let her hold the bottle so she can play with it while I comb her hair, and she didn't even noticed that I finished. Amazing! And the smell is so good! The first time we tried it, I already fell in love with it, our new best friend!
There's another bonus, as much as I wanted my baby to have a bath every night, sometimes it doesn't happen. So before, we really have to put up with her tangled hair, but when we started using Earthwise Detangler spray, there's no knots and tangles even she skip her bath night. What is even more amazing is there's no need for another spray, the magic of that spray stays. My daughter's hair is so smooth and shiny. Thank you KIWIreviews and thank you Earthwise for amazing product!
I had to borrow my niece for the weekend for this review. She has lovely curly locks and hates having them washed and brushed. The first day she got to my house after being at school all day I tried the detangler in her hair. I had to make it quite wet for the detangling effect to start. but once trying to comb it there was no tears and barely even a moan which unlike other times I have brushed her hair it's usually a fight and a crying fit from her.
The next night she had a bath and washed her hair. Then while still damp once she was out, I sprayed the detangler and combed her hair with ease. Once it was dry I found I had to spray the detangler again to comb it, It was so soft though and the curls were ringlets but it was still very effective and no tears just a few moans and groans with little knots as opposed to screams and trying to tug away without the detangler. This made hair brushing so much more enjoyable, and her mum has gone and bought a bottle for at her place because once she went home mum found it very easy to comb her hair which is usually like a birds nest.
The price it costs for the amount you use is totally worth it especially to avoid the screaming matches with my niece when she comes to stay.
My family was lucky enough to get a bottle of this to review almost a month ago and now I feel like I just have to add my point of view.
This has been used, at least once a day by up to five people and the bottle isn't empty yet, I'd say that's amazing value and this alone has me wanting to buy another bottle when this one runs out, it really really does a great job and lasts for a great deal of time.
I have used this on my hair (which really really needs a cut) and it's been starting to get knotted each morning. I also have a small bit of hair that is always falling into my eyes, I HATE it! What I have discovered is that this spray also holds my hair in place for a while, so not only am I getting rid of any knots, I'm getting that pesky lock of hair out of my face till lunch!
My wife and I are sold on this product and there is no doubt we will be buying it again, I think I like it more than she does.
Although I wasn't selected for the Earthwise Detangler after reading the rave reviews from those that were I had to buy a bottle to try it. My five year old has waist length hair and brushing it can be a real mission. This spray has saved many battles especially in the morning rush and as a result I have been less stressed and able to try new hairstyles.
I have tried other detanglers but they have been full of chemicals which I am worried about my children inhaling as well as the long term affects on their hair and the environment. My girls both prefer it when I use the detangler rather just combing their hair. It works well on both wet and dry hair and smells great too.
The label says it can be used before swimming to protect hair. This will be a great benefit for both them and myself as the chlorine tend to really damage our hair. I am grateful to have discovered it before summer when my daughter will be swimming daily at school.
The only thing I would change about it is the spray top. There is a little cap which is not ideal around young children and the one from my bottle was lost by the time I got it home. It also has a tendency to come off and make a mess in the toilet bag. I would have preferred one of those twist spray tops or a trigger spray. It would have been harder for a toddler to open too.
My husband has always thought things like detangler spray were a gimmick but he is the first to grab it when brushing a tangled mess. It is safe today we will be buying it again but not for a while as it seems to last.
My daughter has hair like me, we can go days without actually brushing it etc but lately her hair has been getting knotted during the night and its been upsetting her when I brush her hair. She is 5 years old and doesn't really do her hair correctly on her own yet, so I'm always on the other end of her screams when I brush her hair.
It smells yummy when its sprayed on, like fruits - since its jungle fruit it would make sense. When I sprayed it onto my daughters head I left it for a little while then started brushing it, it took more sprays for me to actually brush her hair without hurting her. Once there was enough on, I could brush her hair with no problems and no screaming from her or her getting angry that I'm hurting her. One bonus about using it is getting the knots out and brushing the hair without a fight, but also it makes the hair wet to tie up without fighting all the stringy bits like normal and making it look funny when tied up. So a happy mummy and happy 5 year old.
As for the price, its out of my budget range but if it lasts for a decent time it will be worthwhile, I've used it for a while now and haven't really made a dent into it. The bottle is simple to use and I haven't had it clog up. I love the little hippo on the front, it helps tell the lavender bottle apart from the detangler.
I have three little misses all with completely different hair so I was looking forward to testing this detangler out as mornings can be a little stressful when I get out the hairbrush!
My Miss Six has taken to doing her own hair to avoid some of the ouch factor, though we have found since switching the girls to using the Earthwise shampoo and conditioner (that I use) that their hair has become a lot softer and more manageable. So Miss Six has very long, thick and very tangly hair and is the perfect test for this detangler. We have used it when her hair was wet, when it was dry and straight out of the bath after washing (using the new Baby Earthwise Shampoo).
I think it was most effective on Miss Six's hair when we used it after shampooing and completely soaked her hair in it and brushed wet. I then completely dried her hair with a hair dryer as she was heading to bed and her hair was silky and amazing. She had no problems brushing it for the next few days and then we sprayed it on her hair dry but did it until her hair was almost wet with it (not using that much though and I suspect this bottle will last a very long time). This also made her hair very easy to brush and I gave it a quick dry as we were heading off to school. The bottle itself is incredible easy to use and I love the one pump type spray.
On another evening we sprayed after her hair had been washed at the pools but had dried and it was spectacularly knotty. We sprayed a lot but not enough to wet her hair through and it didn't really help a lot. Miss Six had had enough before I gave it another spray. I think the lesson from that though is to spray immediately after washing not wait for the hair to dry and knot up first!
Our next use was a quick spray after she had got her hair wet in the bath but not washed. I sprayed then dried and again her hair was silky. I will definitely keep using it for her and she loves the smell and how amazing her hair looks after using it.
Miss Five has shorter hair but it is incredibly fine and straw like. She loves using this detangler and thankfully her hair being so fine dries quickly so we have been able to use this most days for her It has definitely made life a lot easier in the mornings and her hair most days is staying a lot silkier than normal. Aside from the night we washed at the pools and didn't spray straight away this detangler has been a winner and I will definitely keep using it for her.
Miss Two has very thick hair that I keep quite short as it can be a bit of a rats nest in the morning. This detangler works a treat and I just give her head a few sprays and whip the brush through and she barely has a chance to notice! I have used it a couple of mornings when I needed my hair to look a bit presentable on the school run on my way to the pools and loved the feel of it on my hair also so its not just for the kids! I and my girls will definitely continue using this product and have already been raving about it to others. A definite 10/10 from us.
My eldest daughter has quite fine hair, which is always a mass of knots in the back. It doesn't seem to matter how much we brush it, she can end up with that bird nest look within seconds. Every morning is a fight. She sits down after breakfast, fresh clothes on and I pull a brush through her hair. I hear "ouch!" before I have even touched her.
Given her dislike of having her hair done, we have tried other detanglers on the market. Many of them have done the job, but left her hair like straw or feeling dirty. When we got the Earthwise detangler spray, we tried this directly after a bath. It was an unfair test really because her hair hadn't seen a brush in over a week. She had knots in there and it was just a wet mass really. So I sprayed the detangler in there.
She was very taken with the jungle fruits smell. She said it smelt the most like raspberries and I agreed it had a very berry smell to it. She sat still and the brushing did go easier than normal. She loved that her hair smelt so nice. What I loved was that once it dried out, her hair was still clean and silky feeling.
Later I noticed the detangler spray had been moved. I came around the corner and there she was, spraying her little sister's head with it. Now little sister doesn't really have a lot of hair, so it was going directly onto the scalp. There was no damage done though, and it appears the spray is really gentle as well as effective. We will definitely be recommending and buying this one again!
Combing out knots has always been something I have dreaded with my 18 month old, he doesn't like it one bit and gets very distraught. I had tried the Johnsons detangling spray but I didn't like the overpowering strawberry smell and it left his hair looking quite greasy and lank so I stopped using it. I was so excited when I heard Earthwise were releasing a new baby range including detangling spray and am so happy to have been chosen to review it.
The first time I used it was after a bath while the hair was still damp. I sprayed the hair lightly all over and then brushed it with a soft brush. The knots simply vanished with out vigorous brushing so I had no tears as you can see in the photo my son was very impressed. I was a bit nervous waiting for his to dry completely thinking it may be left looking greasy but it dried normally and his curls had extra bounce and shine.
I used it the next morning on his bed hair. He wakes up every morning with a big matted mess on the back of his head as he is such a wiggler. I sprayed the hair with the detangle spray and brushed and again the knots came out easily. Just like using it on the wet hair, once the hair had dried off it was just shiny and clean looking as if it had had nothing put in it. The bonus being cuddle times where extra sweet with the amazing jungle fruits smell in his hair.
I recently had my hair coloured blonde and my hair is in really bad condition because of it. Since having it coloured it takes me a good 30 minutes to brush my hair in the morning as it seems to just dry out and form almost like dreadlocks in the space of one day. I used this spray in my own hair and it cut my brushing time down to less than half the time it normally takes so I was well impressed.
I was very pleased to get picked to review the detangler spray from Earthwise. I have three children and tangled, knotted hair is a daily event in our house.
I tried this first, after the children had had their bath before bedtime, knowing that their hair being washed would create a knot or two per child. My children don't really like having their hair brushed for the brushing out of knots is not a fun event in our house. Gave each child a good spray and grabbed the brush. Each child cringed but the knots came out with such an ease!
The next try was before school, there always seem to be knots in the morning as these kids of mine wriggle and move about so much in their beds that their hair is a bit of a mess in the morning. Gave them a spray each, all over their hair, and again the knots came out without a fuss.
Now, I know this product is aimed at our little ones, but I gave it a try in my own hair as I get horrendous knots in the morning and this was brilliant, only minor trouble with my hair but otherwise it was a much quicker and easier brushing of the hair this morning.
This is a really good price when having used it twice on three children and once on myself the bottle looks like it has hardly been touched! It says that it has a jungle fruits scent, and yes, it does, the great thing is that it isn't too strong a smell. I would buy this again without a doubt, hair brushing is no longer traumatic. :)
