A very short and easy to read book for young boys (about 7 - 10) about a group of four friends, Ben, Johnno, Marty and Tubs who band together to try and track down the school 'Random Stuff Thief', only to discover it wasn't quite who they were expecting.

I love the drawings on each page of this book. They have real character, are fun and make the book more accessible to the young age group. The plot itself is very simple, but that is a good thing. It is subtly educational without being a big sermon on 'stealing'.

This book is defitinely only targeted at boys. There are no girls in the story at all - except for a school bully right near the beginning. If the intention is to get young boys reading independently, then I think this would definitely hold their interest and not pose too much of a challenge to get through (it is about a quarter of the thickness shown in the sample picture above).

In conclusion, a good buy for boys, though possibly a little pricey given the size.
