Even though I had watched the movie before reading this book, I was still very interested in getting a copy to review, as I was curious as to whether reading the story would feel any different from watching the movie, the results were intriguing. I have a mind that often visualizes what it's reading, I mean I can look at the title of a movie, and if I've watched it, the whole movie plays out in my head within the span of a few seconds.

Because of this, reading this book eliminated the task of trying to visualize the story going on nothing but imagination, which I find difficult with some books. To be honest, reading this book didn't feel very different from watching the movie at all. However, I think that it was still fun to read, as it provided a sort of framework I could use to draw the instant-fast-forward thing that goes on in my head and allow me to play out the movie slowly in my head.

For me, this gives me an opportunity to enjoy the experience of the movie again, but of course, not everyone is like that. One thing I didn't like, however, was that the book finished earlier than the movie did, so it left on a cliffhanger before the best part of the story, I can understand why this is, though. I think that it is a good strategy to get people to watch the movie, so that they can resolve the cliffhanger themselves, and the book doesn't become just a cheaper alternative to watching the film.

If I hadn't watched the movie, I probably would have still enjoyed this book. I think that the author has managed to capture the action of the movie very well, despite trimming out some of the details for obvious reasons, and has has made this book a worthwhile thing to read. I loved the picture-pages in the middle of the book, they are something I have seen in books before and they can often help those who haven't seen the movies the books are linked too give faces to the characters and certain scenes.

The price is amazing, I think that for a book like this, its retail price is right in the Goldilocks-range, as I like to call it, where it is neither too expensive nor too cheap, such prices would lie about the book's value, and I think that $9.00 fits the value nicely. Overall, I hadf a great time reading this book, I would recommend it more to kids than to adults, but I think that it is suitable for readers of all ages. Enjoy!

Product reviews for listing 3385: Animorphs - 5 - The Predator -  Written by: K.A. Applegate

Product image for Animorphs - 5 - The PredatorWe can't tell you who we are. Or where we live. It's too risky, and we've got to be careful. But everyone is in danger, yeah even you.

Marco never wanted to be an Animorph. He certainly did not want to be one of a handful of kids who are the planet's only defense against a secret alien army. He's worried about his dad - the only family Marco has left. If anything happens to him, his father will be alone. But something is ... more...
