Frankly, I started off being quite dubious about this one... after all, there were really only 5 pages to the story, and one sentence per page... but, oh, the pop-up models... they made it brilliant!

The engineering is wonderful, but you need to be very careful when you first open each page, because the models can 'lock' in the flat state, meaning that if you open the pages too quickly, you can rip some of the models... as I did for one of them. Repairs can be effective... but ugly.

My son apsolutely adored the book, as it was a simple story, but he was so happy and proud of himself that he was able to read almost every word by himself. Not bad, for him. And he was giggling like mad every time a new model popped up.

Overall, I would have been very happy to have gone to a bookshop and paid an extra $10-$15, if there had been some more pop-up models in the book, but for what it is, it's a great addition to any child's library. Most suitable for children with mental ages under 7, as an adult, I was fascinated by the engineering of the models themselves. After re-creasing some folds to prevent flat-lock, the book operates as specified, smooth and easy.

Product reviews for listing 6832: Where's Kiwi?: Around the World Book 2 -  Author: Myles Lawford

Product image for Where's Kiwi?: Around the World Book 2Kiwi's got itchy feet again! His bags are packed, and it's time to take off and explore the wonders of the world. Will Kiwi meet the Queen, run into a madcap mummy, have lunch with a portly panda or pull some wild stunts at the movie studios?

Can you spot Kiwi around the world? Remember - don't let Sporty Sheep, Tricky Tuatara, Wacky Wizard or Gumboot Guy distract you from the great Kiwi hunt!
