After picking my books up for review this afternoon and showing Miss 2 and a half who was in the car with me at the time that I had new books for her, she didn't hesitate to ask me for the book so she could look through it on the drive home. I knew immediately that it was a hit, as she flicked through the pages she was calling out each of the different animals to me and telling me all about what they were doing. So I was not at all surprised when as soon as we walked through the door she was asking me to read her her 'Polar Bear book'.

Daddy. You're Awesome is such a beautiful book which demonstrates the amazing bond and relationship which children have with their Daddy's. It has super cute pictures of different animals, which are illustrated as a Dad and Child having fun and games with their Daddy and sharing what it is that makes their own daddy awesome. As we read the book my daughter loved being able to point out all of the different animals and repeating the saying "Daddy, you're awesome to me" as we turned each page, it certainly didn't take her long to pick up on this saying. This book provided lot's of wonderful conversation starters between my daughter and I as we talked about what was happening in each of the pictures and she related it back to times when her and her Dad had done things together as in the book, for example swinging on the swings, looking at the stars and going on bike rides. When her Daddy arrived home from work she went racing into the garage with her book and called out "Daddy, you're awesome to me" to her Dad, it was very sweet and her Daddy was pretty chuffed.

The book has a hard cover which I really love, it makes the book seem like a much better quality than that of a paperback. I really enjoyed watching my partner read this book to my daughter as he often works night shift, and so quite often misses out on these quality interactions, so it was neat to listen to them reading together and to hear him saying to Miss "that's what you and Daddy do" or "I like doing this with you". I felt like this book is great for building on relationships between Father and Daughter and as though it could actually help my partner to realise how important the bond he has with her really is. The more he read this book the more I think he thought about how important it is that he spends more time with her as after reading the book, when Miss had gone to bed he made a comment in regards to this.

The pictures in the book are very cute and well done. With a different animal on each page, showing a father and his child. The text on each page is a good sized font and is easy to read with not many words per page, which is important when reading to a young child as their attention span can change quite quickly. The words flow really nicely and match well with the illustrations on that page, the words "Daddy, you're awesome to me" are repetitive on each page so it doesn't take children to learn this and want to join in with reading it out, after reading the book 3 times Miss 2 and a half had picked up on this.

A beautiful book in all which I'm sure will be another treasured favourite for many years to come, definetely one to pull out and read each Father's Day.

There is something about a hard cover book. It certainly gives me the feeling of quality, before I have even opened a book! With Father's Day coming up, it is great to see titles appearing to reflect a relationship between a father and a child. The cute image on the front of this book makes me think of how I want my children to remember their childhood with their Daddy (and their Mummy for that matter!!).

I think that a daddy reading this book to he children could help him to see how important he is to his children and how the small things in life can be the most important to a young child. As parents, we can often be caught up with work and life in general and can forget to stop and spend time doing the little things with our children. This book is a good chance to reflect on this and perhaps spend a little extra time with our children. It is great when a children's book can touch the adults who read it to their children and maybe even promote more quality time with our children.

I am looking forward to my children reading this book with their Daddy on Father's Day this year. I know that my husband will love hearing them say "Daddy, you're awesome to me."

The illustrations are cute. Each page has a different set of animals, showing a father and child. Each page has a different style of illustration and colour scheme. The text is clear and easy to read. My children loved the fact that the words "Daddy, you're awesome to me" were repeated on each page. They enjoyed joining in with me as I read it to them. The rest of the text is written in a nicely flowing rhyme. Again, the kids liked joining in with the word that they thought should be the last word in each verse. It is always nice to be able to get children to join in with me as I read. It is much nicer than them be passive listeners while I read.

I loved the last page of a daddy koala as he and his child snuggle up together. It made the last line of the book really precious.

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to read and review Mummy You're Special to Me by the same author as this book, Laine Mitchell. It is along the same lines as this book and was brought out for Mother's Day. We are lucky enough to now own both books in this series. Both books are as lovely as each other.

This will become another very much loved book in our house. Already, the kids are enjoying having it read to them.
