If you want a way to illustrate the diversity of plantlife to your kids, this is a great book to start with. There are no huge, scientifically detailed paragraphs of technical jargon, just pages full of interesting pictures each with a short snappy caption that gives some intersting and relevant info. The sort of info isn't limited to the plants either, there are also little bits that relate to parasites or residents of the plants concerned too.

Covering a huge and diverse range of flora, from the tiniest desert succulent to the mightiest, stinkiest flower on the plant, there is no reason this shouldn't be in any child's reference library. As a starter, it's perfect, but don't expect it to be worthwhile for detailed research. For school projects, seek more in-depth material.

Overall, a stunning introduction into the wonders of plantlife on our planet, well worth the purchase price.
