Crimson Skies is a very good game that combines the thrills of air combat with the swashbuckling style of an action-adventure movie.
You'll pilot ten fantasy war planes armed to the teeth with missiles, electro weapons, and machine guns. This game reminds me of a classic Hollywood tale. You'll battle enemy aces and navigate tricky levels in single and multiplayer modes.
As the daring air pirate Nathan Zachary, you'll travel through 1930s America hunting down the murderers of Nathan's best friend. There are lots of different game types, multiplayer dogfights, capture the chicken and many more.
This is all round a great game and can be played over and over.

I have never been a huge fan of flying games but this one takes the cake. If you haved always loved flying games then this is a must have.
This game, like most xbox games, has great graphics and level layout. You could face many hours of very fun gameplay. The controls are easy to master and that can make any game better. As far as flying games go the only things I really had problems with were it can be boring in some places and the fact that you dont feel like you are going that fast but this is nothing overall.
Multiplayer can get a little dull if you play it for too long, but you will always find yourself going back to it which will make this game a classic!
This is after all a great game and I suggest very strongly that you try it:)

Yes i'm a bit of a flying game fanatic, and after reading the hype around this one, I had to give it a go, and I was not disappointed at all.

This game has all the hallmarks of a classic. A good plot, great graphics, good controls and of course great gameplay.

One of the things I love about this game is the huge game area, combine this with the fact that this game is mission based but doesn't feel like it makes this a winner in my book.

I can see a lot of nights sleep being lost due to this game in the months to come.

I don't like 3d flight games. They confuse me and I feel ill. I don't suffer vertigo well.

Then I had a drink. And another... or two...

And this game became SO MUCH MORE PLAYABLE! Don't know what switch got flicked in my head, but I really started to get good at this game and even enjoy it. There's something really satisfying about blowing up an entire zeppelin from a ground-mounted AA gun, blasting thru oil drums in narrow fjords at high speed, racing thru tunnels, and turning other planes into balls of flaming wreckage.

A few hints... Watch for parachutes, fly thru them to gain extras, such as health, ammo, etc. As you fly thru tight places and high mountain areas, watch for spinning silver wings, upgrade tokens, as they allow you to improve your planes. Watch out for missiles, as they have a nasty tendancy to pounce from the side. Crossfire is a right hassle.

The controls are amazingly intuitive and easy to configure, and after a very short while even tricky flightpaths are easily handled. The HUD and rader are handy, easily placed in glance-range but out of your main visual area, and reasonably fully functional. However, the lack of a clearly readable altimeter is a right pain, and can cause some very close calls. Timing becomes very important to observe. A 3 second climb is balanced by a 2 second fall, so careful of those high reaches... you can climb until you almost stall, then flip over to find yourself half a second away from an eagle's nest in the face. Bad scene, dude.

The weapons you start out with are functional, powerful and very suitable to your skill level... but you do have a chance to experience other craft by simply landing near them and taking them for a test flight or three... they really should learn not to leave the keys under the seat.

With missions that become more challenging as the game progresses, LOTS of hidden or nearly hidden items, places and mini-goals, this game has enough to keep even the hardest gamer amused for at least a couple of weeks.

Play is smooth, flights run with reasonable pace, graphics are nothing to rave about, but are very functional and textured well enough that you don't notice the flying bricks too much. The zep's are very well done in fact, and not at all impractical. Such craft COULD be built and fly well I imagine.

After a number of hours playing, I decided enough was enough... I somehow managed to crash the system, locking it up in the menu loader. Dunno how... it's just a gift I guess.

Overall folks, another fine example of Microsoft's gear in action. Well worth the starting price, and will be a steal when it goes classic...
