After I found out that my dog had allergies with SOY...soy products, soy protein, soy oil, soy bean etc.....I instantly had a panic attack because I knew that soy or some sort of soy product was in all dog food!! Well the dog sausage, dry dog biscuits and canned meat that I had in my cupboard at the time I found out and when I googled dog food SOY was everywhere and in everything. She is also allergic to food colouring so having the assurance that no extra artificial flavours are added to the dog roll is great!!
I was straight down to the supermarket and must have looked like a crazy lady because I was turning all the dog sausage rolls looking for the ingredients panel and scrolling down to see if soy was on the list....and 9 out of the 11 brands of dog roll had soy!! Golden Boy Endurance and one other one didn't have any soy products what to ever. Plus the Golden Boy roll also stated as part of their advertising on the side of the roll the allergy list which was super handful rather than having to search the ingredients list. I saw the allergy contents stated even before I looked at the ingredient list.
The dog roll is a large size so I know one roll feeds my 2 dogs for several days....what also helps is the portion sizes marked on the side of the dog roll so I know how much to cut off each time. My older dog is quite fussy and it took my a long time to find a brand of dog sausage that she likes, and the one she loved was full of soy and since I was afraid my younger dog would eat her food both dogs needed to change food to make my life easier....and the fusspot older dog loved Golden Dog which was a huge relief.
As soon as I cut open the first roll the smell of luncheon sausage hit my nose and the consistency of the meat also looked like luncheon sausage...it looked and smelled good enough for me too eat!! (I promise I didn't try it though haha) I love the fact the meat doesn't have grizzle in it either, plus it doesn't have visible vegetables either because my 2 dogs will actually eat around the vegetable especially the peas and leave them in the bottom of the bowl! haha it is super easy to slice up and serve to my dogs.
And!! just because I am a girlie girl I love that the beef flavour of the golden boy brand that I buy for my two dogs is pink.....I must say I like the pink label....my two pooches are girls so it makes us all happy!! Plus it is the best nutritionally for the both of them for their age and active lifestyle, because the other two flavours and coloured labels are for older dogs and puppies.
