Mocka's quality range of wooden balance bikes (also known as running bikes) are designed to develop your child's balance and co-ordination in preparation for riding their first push-bike. The Mocka Balance Bike has no pedals and provides an easy, safe, and fun way for children to build their confidence.
Balance bikes for safety
Mocka's Balance Bikes and running bikes allow children good control over their speed and manoeuvrability. The bike is naturally propelled forward by the child's running motion and can be quickly and easily stopped by simply dropping their feet to the ground. Complies with Toy Safety Standards EN71 and AS/NZS ISO 8124.2011.
Balance bikes for confidence
Children as young as two can enjoy the fun and freedom of a Mocka Balance Bike. Whilst learning to ride a push-bike can be scary for young children, balance bikes allow children to master their balance quickly and confidently. Once children have outgrown their Mocka Balance Bike, they can seamlessly transition to a 12" bike without the need for training wheels.
Balance bikes for durability and comfort
The Mocka Balance Bike is built to last. We have carefully selected only the best materials and parts to ensure our bikes provide unsurpassed quality. The bike's frame, forks and saddle are constructed from sustainable birch wood. A padded seat provides lasting comfort and pneumatic rubber tyres ensure a smooth ride.
Balance bikes for convenience
Mocka's Balance Bikes are incredibly lightweight at just 4.5kg, making it easy for parents to pick-up and carry as needed and their compact size makes them ideal for stowage within the boot space of most family cars.

I love Mocka products, so when it was time to get my daughter a balance bike I knew exactly where to start looking. Because the website is well laid out and easy to use I was able to head straight to the balance bike section. By clicking on any of the bikes I was able to check out the chart which details the approx "starting" age, as well as the seat range for all the bikes - this made deciding on the right bike a lot easier.
Free shipping is offered on all Mocka products, the bike arrived quickly and was easy to set up ready for my daughter to ride. I love also that I can get extras for the bike (stand, bike bag and bell) as well as replacement inner tubes and tyres if needed. The balance bike is lightweight yet extremely durable - it has been through a few crashes and sudden drops and the only real 'wear and tear' is a slight fading on the handle bar covers.
Mocka distributes an AMAZING range of products - and this is no exception. I was a bit sceptical of balance bikes - after all - we never had them growing up and learned to ride our bikes just fine! However, after having a play on a friends bike, my 3 yr old declared "I need a bike Mum". Little did she know, we had already purchased one, and were just waiting till she was more confident to use it.
It is light weight - in that it is not heavy to carry, is very well made, and easy to assemble. As well as this, there are plenty of extras you can get - a bike stand, bell and a bag for the front - and yes, you CAN get girly colours!
I think the price is great, worth the money you pay, for sure. With free delivery, that makes it a bargain. As well as this, through my work we get a discount, so what could be better than that!!
I recommend washing it down after being at the beach/park in mud etc, and making sure it is dry, to ensure longevitity. In addition - storing it inside/out of the weather is the best option, where possible.
All in all - a fantastic product, and I doubt you would be disappointed - I wasn't!
When I first heard of balance bikes I truly felt they were a silly waste of time. But that is definitely not the case, far from it in fact.
The balance bikes are a truly brilliant invention. My friends have young children (under 3yrs) who can all ride their two wheeler bikes without training wheels, and all learnt by riding Mocka balance bikes first.
My 5yo can still not ride a bike, not from a lack of trying, her balance is absolutely terrible. We have tried every day since she was about 3.5 yrs of age, but she just can not get her balance right on it. Recently I purchased a Mocka Urban balance bike for my nephew.
It has sat in my lounge waiting for September when I can give it to the wee man. In the meantime miss 5yrs has played on it across the lounge floor and within 2 weeks her balance on the bike has increased ten-fold. Granted the balance bike is of course a bit small for her,
, but she is giving it her all, and I am pretty sure that she will have her balance sorted and be reading to ride her big girls bike real soon.
The price of the balance bikes is not too high and definitely worth every cent, and the quality of these bikes is top-notch, the bikes will last for a very long time (years) if not left out to be weathered. They are very well made, very safe and very cool looking too.
My only concern, and this is not one with the balance bikes themselves, is that with children learning to ride 2 wheeler bikes solo at a really young age before they have successfully learnt to distinguish speed of cars, speed of bikes, dangers etc,
Santa delivered this to my son for Christmas 2010 when he was 2 and a half. This simply has been the best thing that he has ever gotten, without a doubt!
Its been so durable, it fits into my Nissan primera's boot along side my buggy, this is the only style of bike that i think would as its rather flat. It has been ridden at the beach, in the water a few times and just had a lot of use.
The bike enables my son who is now 4 (but could do this from 3) to ride along side me going at a decent walking pace and keep up. He can do 5km on a flat concrete walking path no problems as this bike is so easy to use!
The seat is adjustable so it has grown with him, my younger son who is 17 months is also showing interest in using it and i love it that much, im considering getting another, rather than buying Mr4 a 'bigger' kids bike.
Delivery with Mocka is free, and usually received the next day (and im in Dunedin!) They are an awesome New Zealand company and i totally recommend them!
