The Story Behind New Zealand's Most Successful Drama Series
Outrageous Fortune first hit New Zealand television screens on July 12, 2005 on TV3. 108 hours, over six seasons has seen the show become the most successful drama series on New Zealand television.
The West family, their friends and associates laughed, cried, loved, drank and swore their way into the hearts of audiences at home and around the world.
Now, Outrageous Fortune: Revealed, goes behind the scenes of this iconic show and looks at how Outrageous Fortune was made, who watches it, and why.
This special edition souvenir DVD has never before seen interviews with the creators, the producers and directors, about how they developed and produced this hit show, and with Robyn Malcolm, about the way she became matriarch Cheryl West, the character at the heart of the series.
It also includes special moments from throughout the 6 seasons, behind the scenes footage and the construction of this exhibition.
This DVD is a must for any outrageous fortune fans. It goes behind the scenes and shows how some sets were made, like the living room, and has some interviews with the great actors. Also at this price, it is a steal.
I am disappointed that the show has ended and while they are currently showing repeats that you know the rest of NZ has seen, this DVD keeps you connected.
I personally enjoyed the interview with Robyn Malcolm and sat glued to the TV. I would have liked to see a few more "in the show" moments but over all was happy with it. They seem like a tight knit group from the off show stuff and i think this is what made the show a success.
