though i adored the flavour and was able to ignore the slightly chewy flake pastry i simple could not believe the price to portion ratio. they are delightful 2 or 3 bite snacks but at this price i wouldnt consider them again. i first thought they were $2.50 for a pack of two but was corrected very quickly and informed that normally we would receive only one for that price. these are an excellent treat but not good value for money as far as i am concerned.

While these little desert morsels are nice they are a lot smaller than I was expecting. The custard is a good consistency and has a nice vanilla flavour throughout. There is plenty of it and I had to be careful biting into mine, taking care not to smear it in my beard.
The pastry was a little hard to bite through and had a slightly dry texture. A little something, maybe a sweet sauce of some kind, would fix this problem as I see it. I had the biggest problem with the icing sugar on the top as it seem to gravitate to my chin then down the front of my shirt as I ate.
A nice little sweet treat but not really something I will be going straight for in the future. Too messy and the portion size versus price doesn't add up for me.

An interesting and very tasty dessert treat, but not the best value for money I have come across.
The flaky pastry was nice, light and buttery smooth. The custard was very sweet, with a nice strong taste of vanilla throughout, and very creamy. The whole lot was topped by a heavy coating of icing sugar which unfortunately had a tendancy to fall off onto my lap at every bite. I would have liked to have seen a light brushing of melted butter or something like that before the sugar was put on, to bind it in place better.
I was quite happy with the dessert as a treat but wasn't too impressed to discover mine was a little burnt on the bottom, adding a slight carbon taste to an otherwise delightful temptation.

These were always going to be a bit of a wildcard for me, as I am not a huge custard fan, though I have nothing against it either, and flaky pastry is something I find all too easy to inhale a small piece of during eating.

However, they quite surprised me by being a lot better than I first assumed. They were light and fluffy, with plenty of flavour from the custard (which is not, as I was informed by a friend, correctly a creme brulee) as well as a hefty sprinkle of icing sugar on the top.

Even cold, they proved to be able to retain their flavour, so make a perfect companion to a pizza meal, because - as any student will know - cold pizza is a real no-brainer for a breakfast meal. LOL Icon

I was also impressed that, though pastry of any kind goes rubbery in a microwave, these dessert treats were still very edible after a quick nuking. (15-18 seconds at high power was about right for a single puffle. If possible, nuke them in their original box for best results.)

Overall, a surprising little treat, though I felt the price was perhaps a touch high for what you get. $4.00 for a pack of two would be fair value, and a more satisfying serving size, IMHO.
