Slingshot is part of the CallPlus family.
Our parent company, CallPlus Limited, started up in 1996 and is now one of New Zealand's largest fixed-line, voice and internet company, delivering these services to business customers through CallPlus, and to residential customers through us, Slingshot.
By keeping things simple and focusing on innovation, better service and better value, the companies have grown successfully over the years.
If you take a look at Slingshot, you'll see that we're strongly focused on making our place, A Better Place for our customers. Maybe that's why we're now the most successful, 100% Kiwi-owned telecommunications company. Oh, and probably why we were also voted Carrier of the Year 2009 at the TUANZ Innovation Awards.

Basically it comes down to this: If you are wanting to get lots of data and pay as little as possible, save a bunch on tolls, and tolerate utterly useless helpdesk staff who don't really understand what you are saying, let alone the definition of 'customer service representative' then this really is your kind of service provider, if you can stretch the definition that far.
My experiences over the last year have been little more than listening to the same three songs over and over for up to half an hour at a time, just for some jumped up CSR to say "Sorry, this is the wrong section, I'll just transfer you now" and off I go to listen to those three stupid love songs again.
All in all, if you want service - REAL service - pay the extra and go elsewhere. If you are on a budget, sign up to Slingshot and forget ever having a smooth, pleasant experience WHEN something stuffs up. "Slingshot - where causing stress has been raised to an art form."

worst company ever. when we first called to sign up to them they were friendly and helpful, then we signed a 12 month contract. first month hardly got internet, kept disconnecting, very annoying, what did we sign up for? emailed and called multiple times for help, no reply from email, the tech support were useless, couldnt help with shit. couldnt take it anymore and switched to orcon before even the month finished, orcon found the fault immediately... so we wanted to cancel the contract, and immediately got bill for sign up fee, first month AND second month internet bill for some reason, also early contract termination fee. crap service, crap everything. fake company ripping off people
Their new "Massive" plans sound so amazing, until you discover they have dumped the "free hours" where data doesnt count.
Is this in an attempt to curb media downloads and help the "Anti-Piracy Bill" be effective? If so, its a bit crap for us collaborative artists who use that time to shift all our files between fellow musicians.
Service as well as Customer service is definitely the pitz!!!

Fastway Couriers was conceived in April 1983 from an idea to operate cost effective hourly pickup and delivery services between Napier and Hastings (New Zealand).
In April 1984 an evaluation of company drivers showed that no new work was being generated by them. It was then decided that the time was right to introduce franchising, and franchise couriers were sought. A large number of franchises were established which resulted in far ... more...
