Take a sunflower seed, coat it in chocolate, then in a crisp candy shell.
Tah Dah!
Product reviews...
I found candy chocolate coated sunflower seeds at a local confectionery shop a while ago. I'm always up for a bit of a challenge and have always been a serious foodie. So I purchased them of course.
The taste was so neat. I was off peanuts at the time, so couldnt have Peanut M&Ms like I craved. These hit my craving so perfectly. The seeds have a nutty flavour that I have always enjoyed, but wrapped in chocolate and candy, made them extra special.
The flavour was in fact so good, that I ended up going back the next day for another packet and these become my little treat, until the shop closed down. If I ever find these again, I will be filling my basket with them in bulk. They are such an intriguing product, but totally yum. And yeah I agree, they would be great on ice cream or even as an alternative to fairy bread!
Saw these and at first thought they were a rip-off of Mini M&Ms... then I bit one, and sure enough, it was a sunflower seed wrapped in an M&M-style confection. Most interesting.
A tasty munchy treat, quite different, and almost could pass for healthy... sure got to be healthier than pure sugar I suppose...
Overall, not bad. Nothing spectaular, but sure something different to give the kids, have a bowlful on the table (very colourful, you could get seriously creative with these) for casual snackers, or used on a cake or something. Perhaps even sprinkled on a Banana Split or Sundae.
