Ten years after the epic Unicron battles, the Autobots and now-leaderless Decepticons have formed an uneasy alliance. When Energon - the rare and potent substance over which the Transformers have fought for eons - is discovered on Earth, mysterious forces return to control the Energon at any cost.
Only an elite team of Autobots, the heroic "robots in disguise", can save the planet from total destruction.

Now this is what I am talking about. This is far more in the classic style I have grown up watching and loving. OK, so it's still a twist on the old plot, and some of the 'history' has been discretely 'corrected' to fit the new storylines, but that's pretty normal... look what they did to Stargate to reconcile the series against the original movie!
The style here reminds me of those classic Japanese future-epic shows, like 'Zoids' and 'Battle of the planets' with the humans having remarkably smooth skin that is always perfectly lit to minimise shadows. from my 8yr old son, who seems to have inherited my affection for the big metal lugs. ![]()
