DHG Lens Protect product reviews

Minimizes flare-ghost and optimizes the performance of lenses for digital imaging. Due to the very thin frame, pictures taken with super wide-angle lens do not suffer from vignette.

    •  Special Coating: New developed ultra-low reflection coating for digital camera does minimize flare and ghost.
    •  Black-ink processing on lens' outer rim: Lens' outer rim blacked with ink to minimize the inner reflection.
    •  Special frame: Satin-like smooth frame for all types to minimize extra reflection.

Perfectly suited for the digital camera, this is a filter that is an absolute MUST for EVERY photographer's kit, with one for each sized lens!! At around $30, they're not badly priced, and seemed to be quite durable quality. (No matter what, better the filter getting the dirt and scratches rather than the lens itself!) Not really a lot more to say about this particular filter, other than if you value your camera gear at all, then make sure you protect all your lenses with one of these.
Also... rather helpful on those ultra-bright days where it can help to remove excessive glare (even better when you also add on the Circular Polariser as well), which is something pretty much every photographer is happy to do without.

It's a piece of glass in a screw-on frame. Big deal, right? Well actually yes it is a big deal when you think that this little piece of glass can easily save you hundreds of dollars in repairs or replaced lenses. A sticky grain of sand can scratch your big beautiful lens if you clean it the wrong way. Taking that shot down the long road can be hazardous to your wallet's health when that passing car flicks up a stone that stars or shatters the lens. Taking the action shot of the painter working up the side of the building may be the last you see when the blob of paint lands square on the front of the camera, coating the lens with enamel paint. For the tiny price of this little filter you could be spared a lot of pain. Anything that would damage your lens will instead damage this*, saving your lens from taking the brunt of the damage. It just doesn't get any smarter than this. Its a very small price to pay for something that is going to prove its worth one day, you can bank on it!

* ADMIN NOTE: Relates to minor non-penetrative damage within certain limits. This is not armourglass.
