Not too sure what the story is with these... the built-in games are simple, yet surprisingly tough to master, and a lack of instructions in the paperwork adds a level of difficulty because you have to play them a while just to figure out what to do... and why.

This highest level of entertainment comes from stacking the cubes so that various combinations of 'stickmen' can visit each other's cubes and interact... the only problem I can see is that with the packs costing around $50, containing 2 cubes each, it's not the cheapest little executive desk toy... but if you have the money, and enjoy seeing a bunch of stick figures running around playing silly beggers and performing a disturbing number of leg-lifting farts in stacks of cubes on your desk, then this could be just the thing for you. Quieter and less distracting than the various iPets desktop toys, not to mention a lot more forgiving of long periods of being ignored. And though the batteries for these are more expensive, they last longer and are far easier to install.

Overall, these are a bit of a mixed bag... a lot of potential fun, if you gather enough of them, and there are, so far, 3 series of them, so there's 12 individuals, and you can get multiples of each one to interact too apparently, so for example a stack of 'Dash the Postman' will do things as well as interacting with other characters. Could be a lot of entertainment, if you are into that kind of thing, but honestly, you would need more than just the 2 we tested... I would say 4-6 cubes is a bare minimum for decent entertainment. But on the up-side, the magnets all over the cubes make them most excellent paperclip holders! And if it comes down to it, you can always separate the cubes and tumble them about, giving your stickmen an experience of what clothes in a tumble dryer must feel like!
