A friend and I dined here for lunch during the weekend. Parking is a little difficult on such a busy main street, and there is limited parking down Campbell street, so finding a park did prove somewhat a challenge.
The dĂ©cor is very classy and modern, polished wooden floors, blazing fireplaces ™ you feel like you-re at home snuggled up on the couch. Very cosy. There is also plenty of tables to choose from, in various different sections of the cafĂ©.
Our waitress attended to us immediately, and was very attentive throughout our stay. Drinks came first, in very good time and we were left to check out the menu. Lots of different options if you come in around brunch/lunch time, as you can choose from both the brunch/breakfast and the lunch menu. Lots of options on both, and all sounded great.
I chose the chicken curry with saffron infused rice, and friend chose cajun chicken salad. Meals came out after about 15-20 minutes, a bit longer than some places to wait for a lunch but we didn-t mind ™ we had lots of gossip to catch up on anyway. A gentleman, (I believe the owner?) kept popping around to make sure we were okay, and making jokes, which kept us entertained! He was fantastic and made you feel like an old friend.
My chicken curry was a little different to what I expected ™ but in a very good way. It was a whole chicken breast, (left whole), in a very spicy, flavourful and aromatic curry sauce. The rice contained cashew nuts and other yummy bits. All very, very good. Friend-s chicken salad had plenty of chicken, and camembert. She said it was great. I struggled to finish my curry, it was a generous size ™ and I chose the less expensive, smaller option!
All finished, we went up to pay, the owner was again very chatty, and even gave us two vouchers for free coffee!! Here is an owner that really cares about his customers and wants them to come back again. Fabulous! I will definitely return. The dinner menu sounds very nice and I-d love to try it.
