Ooooh... another craft orientated book!! So of course this was a definite must-add to my ever growing library. It started off well, with first listing the essential materials needed, and the basic techniques... both of great benefit for those who are completely new to the wonderful world of cross-stitch, or even for those just needing a slight refresher course after having not picked up anything cross-stitch related in a long time (like myself). Then it went on to different ways to give your cross-stitch pieces that extra touch - with beading, tassles, applique, etc; and finally, the motherload! Page after page after page of beautiful patterns with patterns that were easy to follow, and photos of the finished picture used in some project, which was great for inspiration. If you like samplers, flowers, patterns with a country type feel, or patterns that would look great on gifts meant for childrean... then The Big Book of Cross-Stitch Designs is definitely one you should consider adding to your collection.
The only thing I have left to say is... roll on pay day as I'm in desperate need of some aida cloth!!! LOL!!!!
