You DO NOT MESS with Jack Reacher

September 11th changed Reacher's drifter lifestyle in one practical way. As well as his folding toothbrush, he now carries photo ID. Yet he is still as close to untraceable as a human being in America can get. So when a member of his old Army unit finds a way to get a message to him, he knows it must be deadly serious: "I want you to put the old unit back together."

You do not mess with the Special Investigators. They always watched each other's backs. Now one of them has shown up dead in a California desert. And six others can't be found at all.

You do not mess with Jack Reacher. His old buddies are in big trouble, and he won't let that go. Not now, not ever.

I love Lee Child and find his books hard to get, so when i saw this I knew I had to read it. Once again I was pulled into the world of the main character Jack Reacher. Jack is a character that could be in the real world, even though he is tough on the outside, he is as soft as a marshmallow inside, for those he cares for and loves. This story really shows it.

Once he realises, a deposit is a special code he starts the trip that bring him and 4 of his friends together for the first time in years, They fight for not only their lives but for the lives of their missing friends. You can feel their pain as they finally come to terms with the fact their friends are dead, this is then pushed aside when they find their friends were set up, how they were set up and why.

To me Jack is a person that could be anyone of us, if we needed to. We all have the hero inside us, but not many have the chance to let it out. I will be looking out for more Lee Child - Jack Reacher books, as I love them so much.

Another brilliant Reacher novel!!!

I picked it up and didn't put it down 'til it was finished - kinda like Reacher himself, once he gets hold of something he doesn't let it go 'til everything is finished, all ends tied up and he's off on the next bus out of town.

This time Reacher is joined by members of his old unit to solve the murder of one of their members and the disappearance of 3 more... There's O'Donnell - handsome but deadly, Dixon - small and lethal (and who has the hots for Reacher) and Neagley - enigmatic and almost equal to Reacher, but in female form...

Not only are they hunting the people that have hurt those they still care deeply for - You DO NOT MESS!!! - but they discover that there is much more at stake than the lives of their unit members, or even their own...

I always eagerly await a new Lee Child's novel, and he has yet to disappointed me. Thanx for the morning of drama, suspense and escapism Mr Child!
