The chairlift was sooooooo cool! It was nice and smooth, and really scary, but that's just because I'm afraid of heights. It was cool being on the raft and looking at the bridge 80 metres above me and seeing my friend do a bungy jump. It has a great veiw of trees and bushes and a nice, shallow river. The ride was heaps of fun going back up to the bridge with my friend, and after that I wanted to stay in gravity canyon until night time.

A great ride for the quieter ones in the group, who want to get that bit of a thrill, without getting into the whole insane heart yammering, wind-rushing-so-fast-at-you-that-you-can't-even-scream, attempting-to-fly madness that comes with activities like the Bungy Jump, Flying Fox, and Bridge Swing. Sit back, and relax while enjoying the amazing scenery of Gravity Canyon as you're lowered slowly and gently down towards the tempting waters of the Rangitikei River (believe me, everyone from the group I went with was rather keen to jump in for a swim in the river, if we'd been able to!). You'll sit safe and secure on the seat (either on your own or with a friend) of NZ's only water-powered chairlift, with those crazy enough to do the Flying Fox possibly wizzing past, or you may even see a form plummeting downward nearby as someone is dropped (WILLINGLY) from the bridge (with a strong rope and assortment of harnessing firmly attached around them of course) you've just been lowered from.
Enjoy the cruise, savour the sights- and DON'T forget the camera!!!
I found it a really great way to finish off the trip, after having already done the Bridge Swing and Flying Fox (yep, I'm one of those crazy enough to seek that higher thrill, but still not quite enough to try out the Bungy- hey, gotta leave something for the next visit right??!!! -grin-). It was definitely quieter than the other rides, and would be just as good as either the start or the finish to the adrenaline rush, but very much well worth a go. It was the one ride my son got to try while we were there, and it gave him a bit of a rush (he's only 6 years after all), and even gained his thumb up of approval.

This was a really nice way to end the day... calm, relaxing, plenty of time to take in the scenery and talk about the terror that you had just experienced...

Safe and secure, despite it's flimsy appearance, you are lowered 80m down from the bungy bridge to the river below, left there for about a minute as the counterweight bucket fills with water, and then you slowly ascend back up to the bridge in near silence.

Overall, quite a good little ride. Nothing spectacular, but a great way to wind down after a day of thrillseeking, in readiness for the drive home. Not a good idea to drive while still shaking and buzzing, with adrenalin still fizzing in your blood.
