I am Merry Gentry, P.I. Others know me as Princess Meredith NicEssus, heir to darkest throne Faerie has to offer. But at what price? To inherit a court that has ruled through bloodshed and violence for centuries, must I really become that which I dream most?
Enemies watch my every move. From his prison cell, my cousin strives to be rid of me while some amongst the unseelie await the downfall of my Aunt, the Queen of Air and Darkness. And unforseen others bide their time, poised to strike.
Reader beware, for herein lies the twilight world of Meredith Gentry, where the erotic and the exotic, the decadent and the deadly come together.
Product reviews...
After having read her previous three books in this series, this one brings us almost to the point of completion for the story... I hope. As sad as I am to admit it, though there was some plot, it was more about the kinky, and sometimes surreal, sexual exploits... all in the name of rekindling magic.
One could have hoped that there would have been a better way to enliven a magical species than for one woman to get jiggy with anything with a protruding bit and a pulse! But alas it seems that promiscuity and magical energy go hand in hand... or something along those lines.
Overall... not at all my favourite of the series. Not the worst book I have read by any means, and in some ways inspirational -snigger- ... but I do find myself wishing there was less raunch and more punch. To top it off, it is clear that this isn't the end of the story... and if the trend holds true, the next installment should come in a sealed opaque wrapper. Guess we shall soon see...
