Breakers is our "Go To" place to eat out for family catch up's, birthdays and any other special occasions. There is always enough seating, high chairs and a play area for the Children which makes for a more relaxed meal for us as parents. I like that the tables aren't really close together and the restraunt is very spacious.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. The menu has a range to choose from and they run daily specials as well so it is reasonably priced. There is a lot to choose from so the decision is not always an easy one!
My partners favourite is the Schnitzel meal, they are quite big meals. I usually go for a burger or the Nachos. In saying that we have tried many of the menu options and very rarely have room for dessert. Beer and other alcoholic beverages are priced as at other places, My partner usually gets Steinlager which is about $6 and I go for a Orange Juice or an Iced Chocolate.
We have never had to wait an exhausting amount of time, the kids meals are fantastic and filling for the little ones. A great place for families with fast and friendly service.

There are a number of restaurants around the area that are very similar in many respects, the feel of the place, or the menu, type of food served, target market, etc... two of the more 'famous' ones I have visited recently are The Fisherman's Table and Cobb & Co... so I wasn't really expecting great things from Breakers...
Boy, was I pleasantly surprised with what I found! Spacious, roomy, a feeling of relaxed space, even in the booths, a couple of pool tables, some vending machines for the kids, some truely nifty and kitchy decor, comfy seats... it was almost too much to take in at one sitting!
We made it a family trip, and the menu was quite eclectic. There was such a huge selection available, it took us nearly all of an hour to decide on mains! So we grabbed a garlic bread and a beef'n'beans nachos to tide us over while the poured over the menu a few dozen times, slowly narrowing the list...
The garlic bread was nice, but nothing special. The nachos, however, were something very tasty indeed. A savoury mince, mixed with tomato salsa and chilli beans, poured generously over crisp corn chips, topped with a'heapin'helpin' of melted cheese, and a giant dollop of sour cream... it was almost a main dish in it's own right. By the time we were finished, we were seriously downgrading our main course options to the smaller meals.
I chose an old favourite, a Kiwi Burger, not to be confused with the now-gone offering from a famous fast food McRetailer... though the recipe was very similar, the taste and presentation were vastly different. The burger itself was presented very nicely, impaled through it's heart with a long toothpick to stop it sliding apart during delivery, with a heap of fresh fries on the side. Slight downside, the fries were heavily salted which removed a lot of enjoyment from the meal for me, but the burger itself was quite tasty, and of such a size that I had to dismantle it and eat it with knife and fork!
My partner chose the Chicken Diane... a tender chicken breast fillet, doused in a Worcestershire, cream and parsley sauce, served with a side salad and fries. Again, the fries were seriously salted, but the 'diane' sauce was so powerful it drown a lot of that, and helped spice up the salad. After a single bite, I was wishing I had chosen that instead! Our son had the chicken-nuggets and chips in a boat, and he was satisfied with that.
For drinks we chose something NOT on the menu... milkshakes made with lime and banana syrup... my personal recipe that is often dismissed as "...probably foul..." until actually tasted. -serious yum-
Dessert was a total non-event, we were so full... and the total bill came to about $60 for the three of us... not bad when you consider we had 4 of the shakes at $5 each!
Overall, a very impressive meal, and the staff were wonderful... professional, but casual about it... giving some good natured hassles back in response to good-natured jokes from me. Loved the feel of the place, and was itching to play a frame or six of pool, but alas, no time, and no coinage.

Dined here for brunch, at around 11.30am with a group of 8.
As soon as we walked in the door we were welcomed by a lovely lady, who advised menus were at the bar, choose a table and once you are ready to order come back up to the bar. This was a public holiday but there was no surcharge. She added 'relax and enjoy yourselves' which I thought was really nice! Something you don't often hear thats for sure.
Breakers wasn't very busy so we had our pick of tables. We chose a large table near the front of the restaurant. There is LOADS of space here, and the tables are nicely spaced apart so you are not feeling like you are dining with the table next door.
We went up to order drink and meals. I chose battered snapper with fries and salad for myself from their seafood section of the menu. You have to pay when you order here. Drinks came out within about five minutes. All our meals came out about 10 minutes later. We certainly didn't have to wait long, all in our party were very impressed with this.
My snapper meal was a great size - very good value for money. The salad was nicely presented with different ingredients. I was a little let down with the quality of the fish; on the dry side and some bites being overly 'fishy tasting'. However, this did not spoil the meal too much and I managed my way through half of it before feeling too full.
Others in the party ordered omelette with salad, all day breakfasts, chicken sandwich with fries, battered oysters. All looked great, and everyone was very happy with their meals.
I note that nobody came along to check everything was alright during the meal.
A waitress was along to clear our plates as soon as we had finished. Upon seeing my half eaten portion, she asked if my meal was alright. I reassured her that is was, and asked for the rest to be put into a container. This was no problem.
Overall, this is a very good restaurant, probably more suited to family occasions and casual dining rather than an occasion to impress. Meals are very reasonably priced, the most expensive being the seafood platter at $25. Atmosphere is great, and the service is excellent.

My partner and I decided to try out this place after hearing good things about the food and the staff. We were made to feel welcome straight away, the staff were friendly and courteous.
The menu has several differently priced sections, which is good for those who want a meal but may not have the cash to go all-out..
After taking several minutes to read, review and drool over the menu, we had a number of different items we liked the sound of. I chose to have the old classic shrimp cocktail followed by something called a 'Pork Hottie' my partner decided to go with the same. After only a few minutes wait, my appetiser arrived at the table. Even though it looked like a standard shrimp cocktail, the presentation of it was great and the shrimp were juicy and delicious. The next item came only about 5-10 minutes later and had both of us salivating in anticipation. The 'Pork Hottie' as I found out was basically a slightly larger than normal hotdog in a bun. A bread roll on the plate with 2 pork breakfast suasages, tomato sauce and mustard with a side order of fries. It may have looked simple on the plate but it was VERY filling, with neither of us being able to finish it.
There are a number of beers, wines and soft drinks available with Breakers having their own lager known as 'Longboard Lager.' A crisp satisfying brew that would go with any meal choice.
A good place to take the family, there are areas for the kids to play, a pool table for the adults and a toddlers area with video for the little'uns.
