The Aristocats, a fun movie for the kids and not a total drag for the parents.

It's light, pleasant and funny, the characterization is strong, and the voices of Phil Harris (O'Malley the Alley Cat) and Eva Gabor (Duchess, the mother cat) are charming. My six year old and four year old alike, both really enjoy this movie, the amount of times I have heard "Everybody wants to be a cat" means I know the song better now than I did when I first started watching it as a kid myself. Each of the cats has it's own personality and their own way of walking, so the kittens especially aren't little clones.

The animation, whilst old by today's standards, is still one that I rather like, knowing that each tiny detail was drawn and that it looks drawn just adds to the quaintness of the entire movie. Whilst there isn't anything too defining about any of the characters, I can't tell you their personalities or anything unique to each cat, but I do remember enjoying the movie, and whilst I don't like the movie as much as I used to any more but if I get roped into watching it with the kids then it isn't a hard way to pass the time.

A fun family movie.

I absolutely love the old disney classics like this movie they are such sweet, simple, stories that entertain the whole family. I haven't seen a digitally enhanced version I still have the old original on VHS (omigosh showing my age) but remains a favourite and my daughter enjoyed it when she was younger and we still had a Video Player.

A real simple storyline where the pampered cat Duchess and her three kittens are abandoned by the butler as he didn't want them to inherit the money and house from their owner. The story shows their adventures as they make their way home and overcome the butler to live happily ever after. They meet a wise street cat Thomas O'Malley on their journey and he helps them find their way home.

The humour is great and it even has a hint of romance like other Disney classics like the Lady and the Tramp. As always it has a happily ever after which I like to see in kids movies and it shows the little guys overcoming the bullies which I also think is great in children's stories. My favourite characters are the Abagail and Amelie the geese I think they are such comical characters.

Personal choice, I give it a 10 out of 10 and I would love to see what it is like in digital quality, I could watch this movie over and over and never grow tired of it. The music is really catchy and really makes the movie.

A sweet, enchanting movie, Aristocats is one that has been loved for decades, and will continue to be loved for decades more, by both young and old! Sitting there watching it with my son took me back to my childhood, when I'd absolutely adored this movie, even down to the quality of the film, which hadn't changed at all (the wonders of digital technology these days!!). In a lot of ways, Aristocats reminded me of another favourite classic- "Lady and the Tramp".
It comes with lots of cool little extras, including a cute little game where you get to adopt a kitten of your choice and look after it in an effort to make it want to stay with you forever (this will be a definite favourite with the younger kids, but will probably quickly get boring for those 8yrs+), and my other favourite, the excerpt from "The Great Cat Family" which is a good intro for kids into cat history.
No matter what your age is, this is definitely a classic that should be added to your collection for your kids at the very least, if not for yourself!!
