Predictably, the Bellas lives have not turned out like they had wanted. Each are in dead end jobs, or not working, as the case is for Fat Amy - all dreaming of the fame they had years gone by. A reunion sparks there desire to sing again and once it is established that there is indeed a competition its game on. Its more of the same but yet it is different this time competing with bands that use instruments and are a league of their own hoping to win a contract with a DJ Khaled. Now if they had left it here with the Rift Offs and singing on stage it would of been a fantastic movie (especially if they had done more of Zombie) but they tried to add another element that just does not work.

Arguably Fat Amy is the star of Pitch Perfect. Love her or hate her she is larger that life and adds a whole new level to the Bellas. But, throw in her daddy issues and throw in a fight scene which really was 'Toxic' it leaves the whole movie with a really bad taste in my mouth. John Lithgow (with the worst Australian accent I have ever heard) is Patricia's dad and is a bad dude and kidnaps the Bellas and it just gets silly. Why mess with a concept that actually works?

Singing, romance, competition, friends this was why Pitch Perfect was such a success. Except this time Beca and Jessie have broken up and he is now living with his new girlfriend and their cat miles away and Bumper and Fat Amy have broken up also. Predictably new guys arrive and they all find love again but it really is not the same. Thankfully Gail and John are back with there witty commentaries and all of the girls have returned even Lilly who finally gets a voice at the end. That is one thing I love about these movies as they all come back each time.

It is an okay movie but I feel like they have lost their essence. It holds your attention until Fat Amy fight scenes and as I said I lost all respect for the movie. Watching the Bonus Features I am thankful that they did cut the scenes and not put the full songs on during the movie as they were tedious to watch. The gag reel is not funny and I it actually left me feeling sad for them. As this is the final time the Bellas will be on our screens it is not the best legacy to say goodbye with. My girls loved it but we did miss Bumper and Fat Amy and the kissy lickie part on the second movie.
