I have been given three different varieties of Bite Me products to review. My girls (6 and 7.5 years old) wanted to try them all but Miss 7 insisted we try the cookie caramel first. So we did. There were 15 pieces in the carton and three of us so we divided it up evenly. There was no way we were waiting until my husband was home as that would mean less for us and 15 doesn't divide into 4 evenly. The label says 3 servings per packet so we were only doing as instructed. I thought 5 pieces was the perfect serving size but to be honest I could have eaten it all myself if I had been watching TV.

When asked for her feedback Miss 7 simply said "Yum" and stuffed another piece into her mouth. "I need to write more than that in a review," I told her. To which she replied, "It was yum, really, really yum". In other words she loved it and wants me to buy more for her. Her sister simply scoffed the lot and came over to me in the hope of getting some of mine.

The bites had a soft chewy caramel which was very sweet. The biscuit base was crunchy. It was a lovely combination of textures and the base helped to balance out the sweetness. There were lots of chocolate chips at the bottom of the carton which I certainly wasn't complaining about.

I have been looking out for these in the supermarkets but have yet to spot them. Which is probably best for my bank account. At $3.50 they are exceptional value and I expected them to be sold for much more. They would be great as platter with some of the other Bite Me products or one or two served (either hot or cold) with ice cream.

When we tried these caramel cookie bites I had some friends over and they knew they were in for a treat, as I laid the snacks out. I was a bit naughty with this one, because I could see just by looking at it, that it would be utterly delicious. As a result, I only put enough out for one each. You should have heard the complaining. One guy went on for like 20 minutes about how there had only been one each.

Based on the reaction to my poor numbers game, you might think the slice was an instant hit and you would be correct. Everyone loved it. The base was a great balance to the beautiful buttery caramel in the middle and then the chocolate chip cookie topping just added a special dimension to the whole thing. I loved it, and most of the people around the table put it as the top of the top.

There was one guest though, that mentioned a little bugbear. That was to do with the chocolate chips. It seemed that no matter how you ate the slice, the chocolate chips would fall off the top and into your hand. At the time no one really seemed to care about that, except for our one guest. However, once he mentioned it then everyone else realised that the chocolate dropping thing had been a tad annoying.

Still, despite that I think the taste of the slice needs celebration. It was the most buttery and delicious slice, without being overwhelming sweet. I loved the flavour and I would absolutely buy this again if I saw it in the shops. If all the chocolate drops off as I eat it, I will just catch it in its super convenient container and then eat them after all the slice is gone; which is pretty much what I did with the rest of the pack.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this product, as I had never tried a cookie that had been baked like a slice, but had also been cut up into bite-sized pieces. The concept is so simple, and yet, I can never be sure of how something simple will turn out. Thankfully, however, this product turned out very well. Smile Icon

The texture of the cookie was really nice, it was firm, yet soft enough to bite through easily. The taste was also very nice; It was much like your typical homemade chocolate chip cookie, with a nice hint of vanilla, and a pleasant level of sweetness. The chocolate chips were a great addition to the mix, but rather than being mixed in with the dough, they were sprinkled over the top of the cookie.

Despite being dark chocolate, which is not my favourite (that title is taken by milk chocolate), they actually worked well with the dough mixture, and also toned down the over-sweetness of the white chocolate. Funnily enough, this cookie was less like the typical baked-in-the-oven variety we're all used to, instead this was made more like a proper slice, by which I mean it was "cold baked".

Intead of being cooked, the dough was simply exposed to gentle, low temperatures and was simply hardened. Overall, I think that this was a very tasty product, and I would highly recommend it.

I love caramel slice and chocolate chip cookies so when these came up for review I was more that happy to put my hand up to review these, after all what can go wrong when you put chocolate chip cookies and caramel together? Not a lot I'm sure!

When I got these home I couldn't help but feel the need to open up the packet to try 1, however the 1 soon turned into the sampling of 3 or 4 pieces, luckily they are only small and take only a couple of bites per piece. The taste was delightful with the caramel not being overly sweet or sickly like a lot of caramel can be, I actually found it to be more closer to resembling a fudge than anything and have a yummy slice of what was like a soft and chewy rather than a crumbly hard cookie on either side of the caramel made for a very yummy treat, this was made even better by the fact the cookie base not only contained dark chocolate chips but also white chocolate chips. This delicious slice had definitely stolen my heart and also that of Miss 3, who was delighted by the fact she could choose her own special piece from the pack without any encouragement from me telling her to grab a smaller bit.

When my partner arrived home from work he headed straight for the fridge (of course) saying he was hungry. He spotted this slice in the fridge and asked what flavour it was when I told him it was a Cookie Caramel flavour he was a bit skeptical, he absolutely adores anything caramel, but really isn't a fan of cookies especially those that are hard, dry and crunchy. I managed to convince him eventually to give it a go as it was more of a soft and gooey slice. Well he didn't hold back after popping a piece into his mouth he reached the container for more telling me "this is really good, more like a slice than a cookie" he compared it to a similar style slice his Mum would make when he was growing up. I can safely say it passed his approval with flying colours as I have caught him on more than 1 occasion searching high and low in the fridge for more of this slice LOL Icon.

With the small price tag of only $3.50 for a pack of 13 pieces it's well worth buying and something I will certainly be keeping an eye out for at my local supermarket.

I absolutely adore all things caramel so was really keen to try these bites out... When I first opened the container, I decided based on looks alone, that these would be able to be passed off as home made - should I wish to be so cheeky of course! Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to remove the packaging when an unexpected guest came over, but I have to say that it was handy being able to pull these out of the freezer (where they store well until you need them) and serve up something a bit nicer than opening a mass produced packet of biscuits. I actually didn't bother waiting for them to thaw either - they actually were quite edible straight away which is something good to note.

The taste of course would be the real selling factor, and I'm pleased to report that everyone really liked them. They had a great easy soft bite to them, but with the hardened texture of the chocolate adding a nice crunch. They aren't skimpy on the chocolate either which was great to see.

The caramel was generous too and tasted nice, but it wasn't over the top wow material - just nice and subtle. I ate these expecting a sweet blast which I got, but they weren't sickly.

I have to say that I'd much rather pay this price for a product like this, rather than mass produced biscuits - and what a great option to have on hand when you haven't had the time or inclination to bake.

OK, I am not a huge fan of caramel slices. I have to be in the right mood, have the right drink handy, and usually have plenty of caramel-loving company around so I can hand off the left-overs to others when it starts to become too 'rich' or sickly-sweet for me. But these... WOW! What a great combo!

I adore choc-chip cookies, and while the state of my Dental Nation means I can't really enjoy them the way I once did, a soft cookie is quite tolerable and I will make those any chance I can get. To find a soft choc-chip cookie seamlessly merged with a caramel slice quite took my breathe away, because for the first time that I can recall, I could eat caramel and not have to give up after 2-3 bites.

The way the cookie dough was used to replace the traditional biscuit base is really a clever innovation in my mind. Whoever thought of that should be in line for some kind of an award, because while it is is sweet in its own right, it was far less sickly-sweet than the caramel, toning it down to a level I could more than just tolerate - I could actually enjoy it! That said, by the time I had nibbled away of half the container's contents, I was quite sated for that session and was able to put them away to share with others later.

Overall, this is a snack treat I will be looking out for in stores. It is, as far as I can recall, the ONLY caramel slice variant I would actually go out of my way to buy for myself again. The only problem would be sharing it... not sure I would actually want to. Wink Icon
