Shark in the Park on a Windy Day! product reviews

It's a wild, windy day.

Timothy Pope is looking through his telescope.....

What can he see in the blustery park??

Could it REALLY be a shark?

Such a fun book to read, children everywhere will enjoy the vivid pictures, the repetative nature, the potential shark fins located thru a cut out and especially yelling out the warning 'shark in the park'. Since getting only three days ago we have read over a thousand times and my four year old can pretty much say the story word for word. She loves screaming at the top of her lungs 'shark in the park' and pointing to all the funny pictures. My only fault with the book is it perfectly rhymes right from the beginning and has a perfect fun pace until the very last page and the the last two words just do not fit. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth and feel it lets the whole book down.

I love the funky font through out and the speach bubbles from the various people/animals. The great pictures are so simple but yet so descriptive and lets you see the wind. Then there is the round circle cut outs on three pages which is such a great thing to have. The pictures appear to look like shark fins and makes you actually think it could be. It teaches the children that you can not beleive everything that you see with your eyes, because you need to see the whole picture. It is a great learning tool, but yet very fun.

The back cover says there are another two books from the same author and now my daughter desperately wants to read those books as well. Besides that last page a great, fun, somewhat educational book that has definitely become a firm favourite.
