So, at long last, this book series comes to it's end, or does it? I have been waiting for this moment since the series start, and I am glad that the last few books have re-captured my attention, for there was a patch in the middle of the series where things were quite boring. The theme of this story was quite unique, while the past 7 books have been oriented around the history aspect of the series, while this one is a bit MORE focused on the sci-fi theme. Since the last book wrapped things up quite well, except for the game episode, where I thought that everything had ended, but the way this book started off was quite interesting.

I have to say that chapters 1-4, as well as the prologue, were quite dry, but things really started picking up at chapter 5, so I was truly captivated. It was at the start of chapter 11 that I realized the truth to the mystery that was floating around the first few chapters. Thankfully, though, new mysteries began popping up, and I was pulled through the story, but still enjoying it the whole way through. It was exciting to see that Riq returns in this book, it was quite a loss for him to have left in the previous book. Another unusal addition was the introduction of a group known as the AB, a group that arose from the ashes of the SQ, who were the villains in the last 7 books.

I think that the storyline is well designed, there are no major contradictions, although there was one point where I got a bit confused, but other than that, everything was fine. I thought that the deviation from the normal theme of this book was great, it gives the sensation of starting something new, although I hope that an entire new series will spawn, and contain the same characters. Although, I think that a new series WILL be arising, but will be individual stories about previous historians, so I think we may have seen the last of Dak and Sera (oh, and Riq).

The price is reasonable, it falls within a good price range, and doesn't give any suspicion to the fact that the sellers may be overpricing the book. The book was a bit mind-twisting, so I think that reading through it again would be interesting, in fact, it may be worth me reading the whole series again, from start to finish, just to get the whole story in my head, in smooth progression. To say the whole thing in few words, I think that this is a great book, and I have been happy to have been with this series the whole way! Smile Icon
