I only just found out that these books are for young teens aged 8 - 13 which is kinda funny because I am loving the series. So far out of the seven books I have read six completely out of order. This is the fifth book of the series. I think these books are a must read because you learn so many valuable lessons.

I was excited to read this one only because the next two books refer to this one a lot. It was good to finally read what actually happened and how it occurred and more importantly why. I was also eager to read this because it is set in Australia's Outback and thought it could help me if I was ever lost there. I have learnt a couple of lessons like if you are in a crocodile invested waters swim under the surface that way the crocodile believes you are part of the environment and is less likely to attack you, where as if you swim on the surface you are toast. If it has not rained for a long time find somewhere high, preferably with a roof cause its going to cause a flash flood. If following someone's foot prints its best to do it first thing in the morning or late afternoon because the sun will actually make them stand out, where as if its mid day the sun is directly on top and you will never find anything.

However as much as I liked this book I was not totally involved with it. It was slower then a lot of the series and (because its directed at the younger readers) it was more than obvious who the bad dudes were. It still had some heart racing moments but they were far and few between. Still a fantastic series that I think everyone should read. Its a fast book and can be read over two nights. The chapters are not that long and at the end of most something important happens so you just have to read the next one or you'll lie awake wondering.
