"Wow. Those are some really angry bird".... I could swear this whole movie was made just so that someone could use that in a film, cause as soon as that line was uttered all six kids and two adults burst out laughing.

Reggie is a turkey who understands that turkey kind is simply fattened up to be dinner, but is never believed. He ends up being the presidents pardoned turkey for Thanksgiving and then is suddenly recruited by Jake and travels back in time to save turkey's from being on the menu. What ensues is a bit of fun as they try to protect the wild turkey's and change the future, but can they really do it or are turkey's doomed to stay on the menu?

The animation in this is well done, as one would expect it to be. There are a few lines in here that point to well known movies etc. yet still a laugh for those who don't 'get' the joke. The voice acting is good, though the only one I could recognize is Owen Wilson, so it was a surprise to see some of the names and who they were, and even when I looked at who was who I still wouldn't have known 100% but now that I know who they are I will be able to tell next time.

The kids enjoyed this movie and when my son is enjoying something, the questions start flying, as they did this time too.

Family movie night might never be the same again, this time we saw time travelling turkeys. Everyone loves thanks giving unless you are a turkey trying to avoid being the dinner.

The animation was fantastic, I heard a few jokes that made me smile. I heard my kids laughing and saying that it was funny to see flying turkeys and they loved how the turkeys jumped into the water. I thought the story was a bit far fetched but I could see why the turkeys wanted to go back in time and have something else on the menu for dinner.

I didn't see the actors who voiced the characters names so I didn't spend most of the movie thinking that the turkey doesn't look like the real actor and just enjoyed the jokes and voices and story. I did like how the story has a moral and that good and bad come together and find a solution. It did get a bit confusing for a short while near the end when there were four Reggies and he finally comes to a realisation that Jake is not crazy.

I know the kids would like this movie to end up in our collection and it is one I don't have a problem with, I have taught them real from imagined and sometimes it is good to have a story that handles serious issues in a fun way.

I really enjoyed this movie. I think the family and I needed a good laugh so we were all excited to sit and watch this movie. We had high hopes with it being from the producer of Shrek which is such a good film so we knew it would have some good laughs and it didn't disappoint in that regards. Now my daughter is 12 so she can get most of the adult humour interweaved into these movies whereas my 2 year old couldn't but he still chuckled in his own way.

We all thought the character of Jake was hilarious with his strong guy personality and the buffing of his chest and muscles in an effort to impress. Reggie was a great character too, although at home he was different from all the other turkeys it shows how much of a "great turkey' he is and he certainly shapes up to be a great turkey. You wouldn't think at first that Reggie would be the one to save the day and save the turkey kind. I think including Reggie himself who doesn't believe he can make a difference for a very long time.

It was quite cute the romance weaved into the movie with Reggie which also proved to be quite comical as he tries to impress and she has quirks of her own including a wandering eye ball which was very funny and cute. Had to love the baby turkey nursery too, was such a laugh at the thought of reggie spitting worms into the babies mouth and his reaction when he heard this.

The storyline was very American and a lot of NZ kids wouldn't know what thanksgiving is. My 12 year old who has watched a lot of American TV did know so she got the storyline as well as us but I just thought younger children may not. So Reggie and Jake travel back in time to take Turkey off the thanksgiving menu which almost fails but Reggie saves the day. A very nice ending which I will not give away but I was definitely impressed with the ending

This DVD promised to be great since it was produced by Scott Moser who also produced Shrek. The cast of voices was star studded including Owen Wilson, and Woody Harrelson. I had been told it was a movie that my kids would enjoy but there would be lines that only adults would understand as they referred to classic movies. To be honest I didn't recognise the movie references but then I am no movie buff.

My daughters (4 and 5.5) sat glued to the screen the first time and when I sat down this afternoon to watch it again before writing my review I was sure I would be watching it alone as they were engrossed in other things but within a minute of starting it they were in their favourite seat glued to the screen once more. Since by purchasing this movie it also gives you an access code to it in Digital Ultraviolet it would be very handy to download onto your tablet for a long car trip or wait at A&E.

This movie is essentially about time travelling turkeys that travel back to the first thanksgiving with hunters and indigenous wild turkeys. Since it is about an important event in American history it is understandably Amercian. My girls had a basic understanding of the plot but since they had no idea about tradition of eating turkeys for Thanksgiving much of it was over their heads.

There is also an important message about the practice of battery farming which makes us all think twice about the type of meat and eggs we purchase. My children were shocked to see the turkeys in cramped cages (be it in a cartoon form). I would watch it again as light entertainment with the kids but it really didn't live up to my expectations. As an adult I found it predicable but for the kids sake I am glad we now have it in our collection. Please note the ratings I have given are from my daughters' perspective. If it had been from my perspective it would have much lower.
