As you may be able to tell from my previous reviews of the books in this series I have become rather hooked on the last thirteen prophecy so eagerly awaited getting this book in my hot little hands. In one word I would have to say "Wow" this book really threw the series out of the water for me was totally not what I was expecting to happen and now I am even more hooked than ever. I want revenge I need the last thirteen to be succesful and defeat evil like solaris and Stella so I can go back to sleeping without dreams of the Last Thirteen lol.

Loved the book although it left me a little sad being that there was a significant death in the book that was totally unexpected. The attacks are getting worse and Solaris support crew are becoming more evident. The plot is certainly deepening when we learn more and more people are on the side of Solaris and Sam, Alex, and co are under more and more danger. It is going to be interesting to read how the Academy get through this brutal attack and get back into the race for the last thirteen.

For Sam away from the attacks the danger is still there as he joins with the next of the last thirteen and continues on with the race only to be brought up short by Solaris again. With more and more attacks and more successes from Solaris it is begining to get a little bit frightening that Solaris may be able to win the race or at least get to the machine before Sam and the Last Thirteen can stop them. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book to find out!

I have waited for this book for a while, and I am very happy to have it now. I knew that at some point this series would reach some sort of major tragedy, after all, most series like this aren't just the old-fashioned "bad-guy vs. good-guy" stories, characters usually die in these stories, and this book lived up to this fact, as some of my favourite characters fall victim to the "tragedy" mentioned in the description, which was quite sad. I was surprised to find that the previously found Dreamers were hardly mentioned in this book, Xavier was Sam's companion, but he was only mentioned a few times, and Gabriella was only mentioned once.

The series has gotten a little dark since it's beginning, but I have still enjoyed it. The storyline was good, it held a great amount of detail, but in some cases, the picture was too detailed, namely, the attack on the Academy, it was really quite moving. If I had to categorize this book, I would label it under Sci-fi, as this book has brought a great technological advance, greater than anything we have in our modern world. This book has brought together the two different styles, the academic past, and the technological future, and that is a blend which isn't always easy to make, so I must congratulate the author.

I think that this book has a great price which falls right into the Goldilocks zone, and it is easy to say that this good price will make it easier for more people to buy and enjoy this book, as well as any other books that are yet to come in this series. I didn't lose track of time, but this book was something good to read during my free time, and now I am left in suspense as I await the next book. Smile Icon
