Some Girl(s) product reviews

Based on his play by the same name, Neil LaBute's script follows a successful writer (Adam Brody) who, on the eve of his wedding, travels across the country to meet up with ex-lovers in an attempt to make amends for past relationship transgressions.

Crisscrossing from Seattle to Boston, he reunites with high school sweetheart Sam, sexually free-spirited Tyler, married college professor Lindsay, his best friend's little sister Reggie, and "the one that got away" Bobbi. Daisy von Scherler Mayer (Party Girl) directs this journey of a modern-day Candide stumbling through a landscape familiar to most men - messy breakups.

I am sorry but in what world is meeting up with your ex a good idea? If a boyfriend from years a past rang me up randomly and asked to meet me I would be rather concerned. These girls all seemed excited by the prospect and remembered everything - which is extremely bizarre.

Adam Brodys character phones some past relationships up to right wrongs as he is about to get married. Sounds intrigging but instead you are left with some complete unrealistic dribble. The past is the past and that is where it should stay.

It blows my mind the memories of these people and how they held so much resentment. Also that some still wanted him. Don't get me started on the younger girl who carried on like he had raped her when it was one kiss and he touched her bum - the movie had no sense of reality.

Its not like these actors have not made good movies/tv programmes before so they can presumably pick there movie roles. The fact that this even got made is questionable because there is no point to it. Who remembers there partners from 15 years ago?? I barely remember my last one before my husband but these people carry on like it happened yesterday.

The script was also silly, nobody talks like this - well nobody that I socialise with. Basically save yourself the trouble and avoid the movie. Also would not class this as a comedy would be more a drama - nothing to laugh about at all.

I was so excited to see this movie - I had seen the previews for the film on another DVD and straight away thought I would like to watch it. Needless to say I was therefore excited to learn that I was getting to review this DVD and eventually managed to persuade my hubby to watch it as well. Deemed a "chick flick" by him he wasn't too sure about it judging from reading the back of the DVD.

This movie started with a bang in the middle of the plot and straight away you met some of the main characters. Definitely straight to the point, grabbed your attention and had you in the thick of the movie straight away. However as the movie went along, and especially when it all of a sudden just ended (!) we quickly realised that this movie didn't really have much of a story line. It does indeed follow exactly what is described on the back but that is all it does... So yes you meet all the ex-lovers in different settings and once he has met them all the movie simply ends. You never learn anything about his current relationship, his up coming wedding or how it all fits together. Maybe it is my mistake for assuming too much and thinking this was going to be a funny comedy style love story (or chick flick as my husband would call it).

Definitely had some funny moments but not laugh out loud hilarious comedy. When the movie suddenly ended we just went "oh what, well that was random" haha because you basically just meet all these ex-lovers with no context as to when or how or why this fits into his life now. I know I wouldn't watch this movie again, and I am glad that I didn't go to the movies to watch it. Although it wasn't bad, as in bad film or bad acting, it wasn't exactly great either and for that reason I'm not totally convinced I would fully recommend to others.
