I am such a huge fan of the Diamond Coat n Cook and have used it for many years. I always remember growing up, going up to my Nana's house in the holidays and going to their beach house in the middle of nowhere where all that was around was a 4 square supermarket. Quite often I would be in charge of cooking dinner and so I would go down to the shops but some chicken of some description, a pack or large snap lock bags and a packet of coat n cook. Then for dinner that night I would cook up 'KFC' especially for my Grandad as this is his favourite take-out which obviously isn't located up in Pukenui.

Even now 15 or so years later Coat n Cook is still a staple ingredient in my pantry and it's what I always use to coat anything I am cooking. It goes great as a coating for chicken, fish, beef schnitzel and even for potato products such as homemade wedges and potato patties. Though it works well on it's own, I have recently found that it is even better when mixed with breadcrumbs which makes the flavour not so over powering and also provides more of a crisp finish. It is definitely quick and easy to use, all I do is added however much is needed to a snap lock bag, put in my meat or vegetables, seal up the bag and then shake, shake, shake until evenly coated.

To get that crispy coating it is best to cook your meat in a tiny amount of oil although recently I have found that using my tefal Acti-Fry gives very pleasing results when cooking with Coat n cook. It's definitely a hit with Miss 2 and my partner, though I guess being golden and crumbed it's always sure to be a hit with kids.

Good old coat n cook is a favourite pantry staple in our household and has been for many years now! I use this product with chicken as well as fish and also mix it with other products such as breadcrumbs to make it go a little bit further. However in saying that you don't need too - everything is already in the box and is a great flavour so all you need to do is coat your chicken (or fish) before cooking. Quick and easy and tastes great!!

I love that this product stays stuck to the chicken and it really is so yummy - its like a home made version of KFC that actually tastes better and is realistically probably better for you too! Our favourite use of this is probably chicken tenders coated in it and cooked either in a fry pan or the oven - mixed with dipping sauces and chips this is an ultimate "takeaway" meal. It would also be perfect to serve as a snack when you have friends over.

I also really love the flavourings of this product mixed with plain breadcrumbs before coating fresh fish in it which I then cook in a fry pan with a little butter. I find coat n cook just adds a really nice flavouring to the breadcrumbs so it isn't so plain. This brand actually has a product directly aimed at seafood but I much prefer using this mix!

Probably the only downfall to this product is that I always really struggle to find it in the supermarket!! Totally the supermarkets fault though on that count I think? I'm not entirely sure why but it is never on the shelf with the other breadcrumbs etc - well at least not where I shop. So if you are having problems hunting out this product to try my advice would definitely be to ask someone who works there Smile Icon

A great product that is able to be used in numerous ways and with numerous products - something that will always be in our pantry and I highly recommend you try it out for yours too! Smile Icon

This is one of my favourite time saving products when it comes to making home made coated chicken nibbles, schnitzel, or home made chicken nuggets. Everything you need for the crispy texture and the flavourings is already mixed up in the box, so all you need to do is coat your chicken and cook. When cooked the result is a nice crispy bread crumb coating that is never soggy and always stays on during cook times.

I make mine stretch a little further by adding crushed cornflakes when I am making chicken nuggets or as my daughter would call it popcorn chicken. I make them bite sized like the popcorn chicken at KFC that way they cook quickly and go extra crispy. The coat N cook has pepper in it and it gives it a nice seasoned taste to the nuggets so it is quite similar to KFC's popcorn chicken too only nicer!!

When I make parmigiana schnitzel with chicken I also use this, I coat the schnitzel with this and cook it for a few minutes before adding tomato paste and cheese. It is one of my familys favourite meals so it always goes down a treat and you save money by not buying already coated schnitzel. The box will usually do one batch of chicken nuggets and one batch of schnitzel so it is pretty good value for money.

Product reviews for listing 7250: Pic's Cashew Butter -  Produced by Pic's Really Good Peanut Butter

Product image for Pic's Cashew ButterThe cashew is a peculiar nut - it's not even a nut, technically speaking. It grows wild in steamy tropical jungles, dangling from the bottom of a fruit, encased in a nasty toxic shell that is used for making drain cleaners and the like.

It roasts and squashes relatively easily and produces a softly textured butter with a slightly sweet flavour.

We don't add anything to our cashew butter and we recommend you keep ... more...
