Frozen blueberries are something you will always come across in my freezer, such a handy and healthy thing to have, so versatile that they can be added to almost any dish, especially sweet dishes, I just love them! When buying frozen blueberries I usually tend to buy which ever ones are on special on the day, but a few times now I have purchased the 18 Below blueberries as I just love that they come in a 1 kg bag and also the quality of these is always top.

I love to add blueberries to smoothies, along with other fruits such as strawberries and bananas, with a bit of milk and yoghurt as these always make such a yummy, satisfying treat especially on a hot summers day when you don't really feel like cooking, a great way to get extra fruit into my family. These blueberries are great used in baking, some of my favourites being blueberry muffins and blueberry pancakes, when using them in baking you can really tell that they are a much quality berry than other brands as they hold there plump round shake when cooked at a high heat, and they also don't tend to leak so much blue colour into your food.

These blueberries also blend up really well and it is so easy to make a blueberry dessert sauce from them, that has a lovely fresh blueberry taste to it, rather than a quite watered down taste due to them having being frozen. I've also used these in fresh fruit ice blocks, Miss 3's favourite thing of all time, so much healthier than commercially made ice blocks targeted at kids!

These are such a great, versatile product to have on hand that seems to last well, if you don't eat them quickly that is, if your looking for quality and don't mind spending a bit extra these are certainly the blueberries you should be buying, and the ones I will be continuing to buy each time I see them on special! The resealable bag is a bonus as it stops the fruit from getting freezer burn!

Frozen blueberries are a great way to be able to enjoy blueberries year round. Often in summer when they are in season, we will buy a punnet or two, but they don't last too long. My daughter will eat a few, and then once they get past their best, she will not touch them. My husband doesn't tend to eat fresh fruit at all. So a bag of frozen blueberries in the freezer is perfect for us. It means I can easily get fruit into my family in other ways.

I will blitz some in my blender for a smoothie with a banana and some Greek yoghurt and coconut cream. I will also blitz them up for addition to my pancakes recipe. They make the batter a pretty purple, which is exciting for my daughter to see. I can then add them to the top of my pancakes too as they are cooking. Or I can save them as an extra garnish, topping the pancakes with yoghurt and berries instead of maple syrup for something a bit different.

For baking, I use these in vanilla cake mix for added fun and then make muffins or cupcakes depending on how I decide to decorate them. I have also added these to a chocolate pudding for a berry nice twist. No one complains when there is a hidden berry in the mix. Another fun thing, is to make triangle puff pastry berry pockets. You can then serve these with custard or yoghurt or even ice cream in winter. This is a very versatile product.

I am a huge fan of baking and one of my favourite things to bake is blueberry cupcakes...and fresh blueberries aren't always in season but this big bag of blueberry goodness is always available at my supermarket.

I am put off by the price as I do wish they were cheaper, but they are on special a lot so I make sure I check when I am at the supermarket and buy a packet when they are cheaper. I do prefer this brand over cheaper brands because I think this brand is better quality so I complain about paying more but I buy them anyway.....I wouldn't change.

I find these blueberries to be whole blueberries of similar sizes and they are full of flavour and the colour doesn't leak out of them as easily as some other brands that I have tried when cooked in a muffin mix or pudding or added to my yoghurt in the morning.

The bag is simple....a white bag with a simple label, so they are probably offering their product as the lowest possible price, and the packet is easy to find and distinguish from the other colourful packets on the shelf in the freezer section. The bag is resealable so I can take out as much as I need at the time for baking or adding to my breakfast or eat getting straight out of the freezer because they are very refreshing on a hot summers day and then seal the bag up again.

I became a fan of blueberries when I was told by my doctor that blueberries would keep Alzheimer's and heart disease at bay which both these conditions run in my family, I also found out that blueberries contain something that also helps with inhibiting cancer cells and that is always a bonus so it can only mean great things if I eat more blueberries.

Blueberries are full of antioxidants that help to neutralise harmful by-products of the metabolism called 'free radicals'. Blueberries help reduce aging as well so c'mon who wouldn't eat blueberries to stay younger, because they are tasty, and good for you. With a HUGE 1kg packet they last ages and I use them just about every day, and will continue to use them! A great product!
