Horrible Histories - Series 2 product reviews

Horrible Histories returns to delight viewers with more gruesome events and ghastly characters from British and international history. Get ready for the funniest, fastest, nastiest and daftest ride through history you're ever likely to see.

Packed full of strange facts, rotten rulers, gory battles, crazy inventions and weird and wonderful moments from the past, Horrible Histories again covers every era from the Stone Age to World War Two, with new additions including terrible tales from the Incredible Incas and the Awesome USA.

From Slimy Stuarts to Groovy Greeks and Awful Egyptians to Gorgeous Georgians, each episode features a mixture of sketches from different ages, plus commentary from the show's talented host, a talking rat.

The comedy songs are back by popular demand and include toe-tapping numbers Spartan School Musical and a Charles II Song (which nods to 21st century rapper Eminem).

And there are pastiches of some familiar television formats, including Victorian Dragon's Den, Historical Mastermind and Roman Come Dine With Me narrated by Dave Lamb.

This second series was much better than the first one, it had more fun, more enjoyment, different parts, and a higher level of blood and gore! I found that in the part of this series called "Stupid Deaths", the Grimm Reaper was different to the first one, he looked better and was a lot more fun. I enjoyed the new topics like: Incredible Incas, Putrid Pirates and Awesome USA, plus there also some funny add-on bits like Historical Fashion Fix, HHTV Sport, Cliff White lie, oh, sorry cliff, Cliff "Whitely", and even "Scary" stories where all the stories ended with a funny but not scary outcome.

The cover was good, it looked fun and wasn't including images like blood, poo and dirt. Some parts of this series made me laugh in hysterics, there were jokes and pranks and other bits that meant that by the time I had finished watching, my diaphragm muscle ached from all the laughter. When I have the chance, I am going to watch this thing all over again - I could watch this whole thing 100 times and it would probably still be cool - although by then they might have already made a third series that I would want to watch and do a review.

For the storyline, I'm giving it a high score because the whole using real people and models to show things that really happened in history, it didn't make you fall asleep like a lullaby on steroids, it keeps you on the edge of the seat, eager for more, awesome technique! The actors were good, they were mostly young, and they all had a good sense of humour, and they had brilliant acting skills. The music was great, they formulated a different atmosphere, unique to each topic. It's all 10/10 for me, you will be sure to enjoy it, providing you are a child. Enjoy!
