Seven Troop product reviews

From the SAS soldier who invented the modern military memoir comes anothers storming battering ram of thrill-packed, unforgettable drama.

Never-before-revealed covert operations and heartbreaking human stories combine to create a new classic and a book that takes us back to where it all began.

Seven Troop is Andy McNab's account of the time he served in the company of a remarkable group of men - from the day, freshly-badged as a member of the SAS Regiment, he joined them in the Malayan jungle, to the day, ten years later, that he handed in his sand-coloured beret and started a new life.

The things the saw and did during that time would take them all to breaking point - and some beyond - in the years that followed.

He who dares, doesn't always win.

I have been a fan of Andy McNab since my much younger days, as a Thirteen Year Old boy, reading about a war hero, with Bravo Two Zero.

Andy McNab is the man who has told so much with his novels, the Non-Fiction ones anyway, that I was honestly was sure this would be a repeat of his other novels: "Bravo Two Zero" and "Immediate Action".

The author managed to bring fresh information to light. Elaborating on stories previously brushed over in his previous Auto-Biographies, and brushing over the ones mentioned in his previous Texts. This led me to not feel that i was being told the same thing over and over again, but to feel i was furthering my education into the life of Andy McNab, winner of the Distinguished Combat Medal, and the Military Medal.

Andy McNab is an inspiration to all people, who want to start at the bottom, and work their way to the top. He started off as a 16 year old, who could barely read and write, and ended up a Best Selling Author!

This book carries you through his journey. Of his early times in "The Regiment", of the things he learnt. Not just military things, such as how to fight, and how to kill, but also, how to be a Gentleman.. How to respect people. How to love the man next to you, and be prepared to give your life to save his, as he would do, for yours.

This book is an awesome depiction of brotherly love, trust, understanding, and courage. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the life of a special forces solder, however, I would recommend reading McNab's other non fiction works before this one.

Written by Greg Egan

Product image for Schilds LadderCass has stumbled on an entirely different kind of physics. And she has travelled to a remote experimental facility in the hope of bringing the tantalizing alternative to life.

The experiment is wildly successful: the novo-vacuum is more stable than the ordinary vacuum around it, and a region in which the new physics holds sway proceeds to expand at half the speed of light. Six hundred years later, and more than two thousand inhabited ... more...
