This is an adorable story that highlights a child's fears about being left at home with a sitter while parents are out in a delightful way.

Billy has a sitter while his mum is out at a pottery class, but Billy and his wee friend Rabbit don't want to go to sleep and keep getting up. Lucy (the sitter) talks to Billy and discovers that Billy is worried that his mum wont be able to find her way home in the dark. Lucy is able to help Billy see that his mother will be able to get home without any problems, and therefore go to sleep.

This story has many elements that even small children can identify with such as Rabbit, Billy's toy friend. Many children these days have toys that comfort them and help them through tough times, which is exactly what Rabbit does.
I like the way that the mother bear interacts with Billy before he goes, and how the sitter does things that a real sitter would do.

A lovely little book that will help children know that when mum and dad will always come home when they go out.
