Once again the new installment in the Jack Heath Scream series doesn't disappoint. From page one I was hooked and found it hard to put down, in fact after picking it up, besides stopping to answer the phone, the book didn't go down again until it was finished!.

This book was set away from the odd town of Axe Falls but right from the start it is clear that they don't escape the odd happenings it follows them. What should of been a quiet family holiday in the mountains becomes anything but when Dale finds a dusty old book. As he begins reading it's becomes clear the book he has found is not an ordinary book. As soon as he starts reading it strange things begin happening.

Once again Jack Heath has done a wonderful job at drawing you in to the story. His characters are very easy to relate to and you find yourself hoping they are going to make it to the end of the story ok. You can't help but love Dale and his outlook on life. He's a typical, goofy pre-teen. My 12 year old niece also really enjoyed the book, like me once she picked it up she had trouble putting it back down. In her words it's an easy but enjoyable read. I recommend to any pre-teens as an introduction to a mystery novel.

Product reviews for listing 5706: The Entertainer
Author: Emma Dodd

Product image for The EntertainerWhen an entertainer dressed as a big cuddly bear arrives at a fancy dress party, the children are delighted. They hoot with laughter as he drinks water from a vase, goes wild on his skateboard and bursts all the balloons. So, after a fond farewell at the end of the day, everyone is surprised when another entertainer turns up, full of apologies for being late!
