The Karazan Quartet : 3 : Prince of the Wind product reviews

Matron is behind bars, Cook's in charge, and life's finally looking good to Adam Equinox. Too good to last.

There's someone new behind the closed door of Matron's office. And he has plans for Highgate... plans that will bring Adam's world crashing down around his ears. Face to face with harsh reality, Adam feels as if his advetures in the fantasy world of Karazan happened a lifetime ago. but a mistake made behind the distant walls of Shakesh will soon have consequences more terrible than he and his four friends can ever imagine.

The five are reunited at Quested Court for the release of Quentin Quested's final computer game, Power Quest to Karazan - and then the unthinkable happens. The simple flick of a switch triggers a cryptic message that can only be from one person. Evil King karazeel has somehow found a way of hooking into the computer syustem at Quested Court - and computer games have become wargames.

King Karazeel must be overthrown before it's too late. But there's only one person who can defeat him: Zephyr, the Lost Prince of the Wind.

That is, if he really exists, and if the five friends are able to find him...

A wonderful continuation of the overall story, this is the third installment in the Karazan Quest. in this installment we see Adam's world turn upsidedown as he goes from happiness, to depair, to stunned shock as he discovers his future at and after Highgate, we see the five adventurers return to Karazan in response to a message from the other side of the veil, in order to locate the Lost Prince, Zephyr, and begin the process of overthrowing the evil King Karazeel, and we discover a multitude of little secrets too important to give away here.

A little predictable in places, this book has one main difference, the five kids don't return to 'the real world' at the end, so there are no 'oh dear! We left [insert important item here] behind! What ever will happen next?' situation to provide a starting point for the next book. This time an important discovery is made by one of the team that changes the whol dynamic of the plot. Something big this way comes.

Overall, taking into account it's a kids fantasy book, and is a little too basic to be my preferred reading, it is a stunning story in it's own right, and a vital stepping stone in the Karazan Quest as a whole. Another winner, even better than the previous 2 books.
