Grobag Baby Sleeping Bags 2.tog product reviews

Grobag started the baby sleep bag revolution back in 2000 and we are very proud to have changed the way that mums and dads put their babies to bed. Over 95% of parents in the UK now use baby sleep bags, making traditional top sheets and blankets a relic of the past.

Grobag has worked closely with The Lullaby Trust, (formerly FSID) The charity works to promote Safer Sleep for babies and support for families. Each Grobag comes with a free nursery thermometer and guide of what to wear.

We go to extraordinary lengths to make sure our Grobags are manufactured to the highest possible quality standards with the very best premium fabrics. Our Grobags meet all the relevant safety standards and in fact the new British Standard was based on our original specifications.

My son started sleeping in a sleeping bag when he was 8 months old and no longer wanted to be swaddled. The first sleep bag we used was a merino kids go go bag which we loved but when Cai outgrew the size e had we couldn't afford to buy a new one as they were about $200 for a winter weight sleeping bag. We decided to buy a gro bag as they were cheaper but still offered a good amount of wamth.

The gro bag offers tog ratings on all their sleeping bag from 0.5 tog to 2.5 tog which basically tells how many blankets it would be equivalent to. Seen as we were buying this going in to winter we bought the 2.5 tog sleeping bag for Cai. It is warm enough that he doesn't need any other blankets, which means we only have to use a bottom sheet on his cot, so it saves on a bit of washing which is always a bonus.

Cai is so active in bed he never keeps blankets on, he likes to get up on his hands and knees and rock so he would end up sleeping with no blankets on what so ever. We found on cold nights he would wake up in the early hours but in the sleeping bag he is kept arm all night as he can't wriggle out of it. This has meant he has had much more settled sleeps and sleeps in longer in the morning.

With the gro bag we got a thermometer that you put up in their room, then you can match the temperature in their room up with what clothes they need to wear underneath. This provides a good guide to make sure they have enough layers underneath in colder temperatures and don't overheat in warmer temperatures. I have found the thermometer very handy but it is a pain as you need the light on to check the temperature.

The gro bag is great quality and so easy to use, it has a shoulder popper and a zip on the side to get them in and out easily and quickly. The zip is double ended so you can change nappies without having to take them completely out of the slee bag, and all the zips have covers so they do not irritate under babies neck!
