I have to say that I actually really like these Tegel Chicken Cordon Bleus. I usually buy the Inghams brand of cordon Bleus, although I have many times seen the Tegel chicken boxed range sitting right alongside these, I just couldn't get myself to sway between the 2 as the Inghams ones are just always really good. However on this particular day when I had gone to the supermarket to purchase chicken cordon bleus for dinner the Inghams brand was all sold out so I had no choice but to give the Tegel equivalent a go.

I think what I wasn't sure about was the fact that the crumb was multi grain rather than just the normal crumb which I was used to. I cooked these in the oven for about 45minutes and rotated them twice during cooking to help achieve a golden, crispy crumb all over. This definitely worked the crumb was lovely and crisp, when I cut into the chicken it was succulent and moist, the ham was heated through and of a generous amount and the cheese was melted and very tasty, it was the perfect melted consistency as it didn't erupt all over the plate when cut as melted cheese can sometimes do.

The thing that impressed me the most about this product is that it is in fact boneless, where the Inghams version contains a bone, so the Tegel was more chicken for your dollar so to speak. The multigrain crumb was nice and is probably a lot healthier than the original crumb coating. If I saw these on special id probably consider buying, otherwise I'll probably stick to Inghams.

I love a well cooked chicken cordon bleu. Unfortunately, they are very hard to find. The Wild Bean Cafe stocks 'Leader' brand cordon bleu, but they are generally full of oils, and not the most pleasant to eat. Tegel and Ingham on the other hand, have always provided a high quality product.

A proper boneless chicken breast, stuffed with cheese and ham, coated in a multigrain crumb. The description explains the product well enough. That is exactly how it comes and looks. The directions are easy enough to follow, and baking them in the oven, doesn't result in an overdose of oils either.

This is a highly enjoyable item, that can be eaten on its own, or in a meal. My personal favourite dishes to prepare with this is either cooked with hot chips, and a thick peanut satay sauce, or with fresh, seasonal vegetables and a rich, plum sauce.

My only beef with this chicken product is the price. It is an incredibly steep price to pay for just part of your meal. With a maximum of two servings from the packet, it is a lot of money to pay. But on the flipside, it is a high quality product, and it is worth the price, it just makes it more of a luxury than a frequent addition.

I'm not the biggest fan of Cordon Bleu, but my husband is. He loves chicken dinners and ham and cheese being involved somehow just makes him smile. We get this occasionally when I want to give him a bit of a treat. We buy two different brands, but the Tegel is his brand of choice.

These come in a box, which makes for easy freezer storage. The other great thing about the box is, that the cardboard is so easy to rip open. This means I don't have to struggle to get the chicken out and into the dish to bake it. I have a little grr about plastic bags and shrink wrap because I struggle to open them, so this product is perfectly packaged for me.

We bake this, and serve it with hot chips or pom poms as well as mixed vegetables. However, you can serve it with a side of warm pasta or in summer, you could do a nice salad. I like that these are easy to bake, you pretty much just put them in and forget them. You can turn them over half way through if you wish though.

The ham and cheese in these seems to be a good quality. The flavour of the cheese is nice and not too strong. The ham is a good thickness. It does give the chicken a pinkness, but these are pre-cooked so there's no problems there. You just heat to eat.

I really like these cordon bleu's which is saying something because I don't really like ham all that much. I must admit I never used to like them as in the past I had had them and where the ham had touched the chicken it had made the chicken almost look pink which put me off them as it made me think about the chicken not being cooked enough, but I have grown to really like them.

Unlike the garlic kiev's the cheese is nice and thick so it doesn't all run out of the chicken so when you cut into it you get nice oozy cheese come out!! Chicken and cheese is such a nice combination! My partner loves these and prefers them over the garlic kievs whereas being a garlic lover I prefer the Kievs but I do enjoy these.

He always gets a bonus as I am not a fan of chicken off the bone so where they have attatched the bone part to the chicken breast I will cut that off and give it to him. I find the colour of the chicken around the bone rather off putting! Plus the size of the breast of these is more than enough for me as a meal as they are quite large sized breasts.
