I have got to admit I love the Nerf range of products they are fun, kids love them and so do adults. They are perfect for the entire family to have fun with.

The Recon CS-6 is a great product, it reminds me of those break down rifles that you see so often in the movies, and in fact alot of the bits go together much like you see them do in the movies.

Now I like the idea of having a magazine clip for these lauchers as it gives it a smaller width and makes it more fun, but they are just not big enough, a 10 round magazine would have been a bit better and not much bigger either. But if you want a bit more in you magazine, take the fully loaded drum magazine from the Raider Rapid Fire CS-35 and clip it into the slot where the regular 6-shot magazine goes, and you have a Nerf style Tommy Gun LOL Icon.

The Tactical Rail system is a great innovation and as I mentioned in the review for the Mission Kit: Tactical Light you can make some truely interesting a handy combinations.

Yay, more cool Nerf N-Strike stuff! And this one comes with add-ons for the Tactical Rail system - in this case a very cool dual-action red spotlight, and a flip-up scope... which was promptly removed and discarded.

The gun can be stripped down to a basic pistol, or built up into a shoulder-braced rifle... simply by clipping on or removing a should stock and barrel extension. The handpiece itself carries one Tactical Rail, while the barrel extension carries another on top and a third underneath, meaning that if you select the right combination you can attach everything you'll need for a fun wargame.

I found the shoulder stock on this gun to be very flimsy. If you plan to run with it, you're better to pinch a sturdier unit off a compatible gun, such as the Raider CS-35, though this unit has the bonus that you can clip a spare magazine into it for that quick change-over mid-shooting.

In the end, for best effect, I biffed the stock. The flip-up scope followed suit, simply because I wasn't planning to use this for long shots, and for it to be effective, it had to be placed on the rear-most Tactical Rail... which happened to be right on top of the sliding panel that loads the gun! Not exactly the smartest engineering I've seen... but then, this is about having fun, and the gun is fun enough with or without the extras.

Speaking of extras... the final ingredient in this delightful machine of mayhem is the red light... clipping on to a tactical rail, this unit can be adjusted to shine as wide as a torch, or almost as narrow as a laser, but of course being an LED, it's nowhere near as powerful so it's reasonably safe on the eyes if you accidentally shine it at your opponents face in the dark.

Overall, this is another great, fun kit from Nerf... in the lead-up to Christmas, I'm hoping to see more turn up... like the hand grenades and rocket launchers we see on the American adverts and website. Heheheheh Wink Icon
