I am very impressed with these solar lights, I positioned them in several places around my outdoor area, two on my steps, and two under the eaves of our seating. I wanted to know if they could still absorb enough light to work effectively if they weren't all placed in full sunlight. The answer is yes, they produce a bright, clean white light, that comes on automatically, although they do have an on / off switch if for some reason you didn't want them beaming their light.

The lights themselves are light weight, they come with the rechargeable batteries already installed, and with four in a pack for $20 they are very cost effective. I pulled out my cordless drill and found them easy to install in a matter of minutes. The outside of the light is a dark grey / black so it would suit most outdoor areas. The clear casing surrounding the led bulbs has ridges on it, that seem to magnify the light produced, a great design feature.

The sealed units are safe for children and pets, little fingers aren't going to be able to tamper with these and get into any trouble. I found these lights were very responsive, and as soon as the light began to fade for the day they began to shine. I waited to write up a review as I wanted to give them a few days of use in some stormy weather, after several days of rain, there came a clear evening and my lights were still shining brightly, the rain hadn't penetrated the casing, a problem that I have had before with other solar lights.

I would definitely recommend purchasing these, I am going to order several more as I have a large outdoor area, and lighting it has always been a challenge. These are the perfect solution as they fit under seating, against walls, and on my stairs.

Having recently moved into a new rental property I have discovered that there are no outside lights! The owner has them to install and they will be in by winter, but now that we are passed daylight savings I am struggling a bit with light outside. The front of my house receives a bit of light from the street lights, but the side of the house where I park my car doesn't get much at all. This makes it very hard to see where I'm going if I don't get my cell phone out and turn on the flash light. For this reason I thought it would be interesting to see how these little solar lights go and have been putting them to the test over the last week.

For the first day I decided to just sit the solar lights in my conservatory to allow them to charge up and to check that they were going. I found it hard to know if the on/off switch was in the right position but I guess the little cover is needed so they don't get moisture inside. I switched all four over to what I thought was on and left them in the sun. I noticed that later that night the lights came on - so I had infact turned them to on. The sun was still setting and it wasn't completely dark but it was good to see they would come on before it was pitch black. The lights had a very bright white light and I could imagine they would light up a place no worries. I placed two on the steps out the front of my house (that have a bannister next to them and it shades some of the light from the street light) and two beside my back door. Unfortunately being that it isn't my house I couldn't attach them to the side of the house, but I figured laying them on the decking would still help!

The ones out the back door certainly helped with a bit of light when it came to unlocking my door. Unfortunately though this part of my house doesn't receive enough sun light I assume and after the first two nights the lights stopped working. The two on the front stairs however were still going strong. You can see by the photo attached to this review how much light they gave to each step. It was great that the design of these allowed me simply to sit them on the step, but I do think I will check with my landlord and see if I can screw them into the bannister as this would stop me from standing on them!

The lights themselves are very very light. One of mine unfortunately doesn't keep the cover over, when I pick it up it falls off. I'm not sure whether this will affect how long it will work for, as I am assuming the covers help with making the lights water tight. Unfrortunately this particular light wouldn't be able to be hung up either as the cover would simply fall off. This may simply be a one off faulty product but when you get that one off in your lot of goods it does make you question the quality a little bit.

We decided to put our name forward for reviewing these solar lights as we had recently spruced up our garden and wanted to add a bit of lighting to the area and thought these would be perfect to line the back section of our house for when approaching the door. These lights came in a set of four round plastic lights eleven centimetres in diameter and brown in colour plus they had a clear removable cover that takes up half of the top surface and houses two white LED lights with the solar panel sitting just behind it on a 45-degree slope.

We decided to place two of the lights down on our pavers in our river stone garden's and the remaining two either side of our back door steps which would allow for sufficient lighting to the area to see the path to the house. Even though we only placed these down late afternoon they got enough energy generated in the small time to allow the lights to shine until the next morning. On the back of the light are two recessed holes that allow for mounting the lights to vertical fixtures and it even states in the moulding the centre distance between the holes to allow for easy marking and placement of screws for hanging the light.

The flaws I see in these lights is that depending on weather and humidity the clear cover mists up with condensation causing the lighting to be quite dull and also the small screws on the back of the light are already starting to corrode quite rapidly. These problems can be solved quite easily by having the cover with a water-resistant sealing arrangement and having the screws in a stainless steel material but of cause would be slightly more costly to do so. Overall I find these lights a great addition to the garden and when the cover is moisture free they put out ample lighting. They have also become quite a hit with our cats as they find them new and mysterious.

The solar lights came in a set of 4 in a plain brown box. The lights are plastic and are half white light and half dark brown with a small solar panel. They felt extremely light and when I looked at the back, I wasn't sure at first if there was a battery inside. My husband assured me there would be but I had to check to make sure. In this instance, he was right!!

We have recently tidied some steps to our sleepout and there is an extremely dark section that is missed by our outdoor lights. We assessed where they would get the most sunlight before my husband attached them (rather easily was his feedback) to some wooden poles. We then checked the switches were on before waiting for the magic to happen! Even though they weren't installed until late afternoon, come dark, there was sufficient light being emitted to be able to see down the steps.

Even though they are physically light, they have held up in the weather and since installation, we have had heavy rain and some strong winds and all the lights have stayed in place. Every night there is a soft white light that illuminates the steps without being intrusive. I have been really impressed with these lights and we don't leave our outside light on at night as these steps provide ample light to get to our front door. My mother commented on how nice and subtle they looked when she visited the other day (high praise!) and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for stylish solar lights.
