I have a daughter who is obsessed with baking. She is 9 years old and loves to spend time in the baking aisle of our supermarket. Lots of time. We have been frequent Dr Oetker product buyers for a few years and this is one of our favourites. It tastes so good! And so handy. I am a busy working Mum and I have to admit that baking is not high on the list of priorities but there are things to do and places to be and this product is perfect for cupcakes for shared lunches at school, impromptu afternoon teas and play dates.

Another way we use it is on a fruit platter with cut up fruit, marshmallows, meringues and the like and a pottle warmed in the middle. Over Christmas and New Years it is great to have on hand and a nice treat for the kids(big and little) to enjoy with a glass or two of dessert wine. I love that it has a long shelf life and how easy it is to whip up something nice with things you have on-hand, if someone just turns up. My eldest daughter also likes it in her hot chocolate to make it extra chocolatey.

I have never used Dr Oetker products before so was excited to give these a try and they couldn't of arrived at a more perfect time. Christmas and summer is a perfect time for chocolate dipped fruit and chocolate drizzled icecream so we had many ways we were thinking of using this easy choc pot. My kids were very excited being huge chocolate fans and I was worried I would not have enough to experiment with the ways their eyes lit up when we removed the pot from our review parcel.

For xmas we dipped some strawberries in the easy choc and it made dipping fruit a very easy task not only that the chocolate had a great taste and texture that was enjoyable to eat. We also drizzled some of the easy choc over our icecream for desert and that was a huge hit with the children, again it was great to use for this purpose as it is easy to soften for drizzling and has a great quality flavour.

I love that you can soften the easy choc and then store it again for the next use and resoften again, I don't think we would be able to use the lot at once so being able to soften it several times is such a bonus. Being able to melt it in the pot it comes in makes it such a low fuss product that is easy to use and store and would definitely be something I would buy again.

I have used a number of Dr Oetker products in past and they are reliable and good quality. I was keen to try this easy choc which is designed to melt in the microwave. My plan was to prepare a plate of strawberries and put the dip melted in the middle. It did work well for a group social occasion in this way.

The first thing I noticed was it was a bit hard for me to open and find the gap in the plastic container but I was in a bit of a rush so that might have been user error. It was a good weight and I had high hopes when I did open it as it looked good and milky (light in colour and a nice smell).

We tried this product for some shared nibbles at a motel with friends - perhaps not the most usual use but I was keen to try it before Christmas and the overdose of chocolate started. I tried the initially recommend microwave times but it took a little longer which was fine - I was not at home so I didn't know the microwave I was using which did give me slight misgivings that I might burn it. It melted quite easily in reality but this was where I made my fatal mistake as I didn't like the look of the bright coloured plastic so I repotted in into a dip dish which was a good idea in theory but it had two flaws. First I couldn't re-microwave as it had metal on the dish and second it started to set quite quickly as the dish was probably quite cold. I would recommend sticking with the dish it comes it next time - my mistake!

The texture was quite runny once it was on the strawberries and it took a bit to get the hang of the dip-and-wait process. I would probably not use this product again in a shared context as it did get a bit crowded. I would probably dip the strawberries and leave them to dry on a tray as I have in past. I found it had a good quantity in the container for the 3 packs of strawberries I had and the serving size is probably very good for most uses.

The taste was fine - nothing special in my opinion. I thought it compared well to other products so I guess in that way it didn't disappoint. For me, the preference would be dark from both a look and taste point of view but it was definitely worth a try. I would be keen to try this product as a "topping" or decoration as it really didn't work for me as a dip and I will head to a proper fondue for my choc dipping in future.

Easy Choc milk flavour was a gem to use and it lives up to the easy choc name as I found it super easy to use and saved a lot of time with having to melt chocolate. I followed the instructions for heating the easy choc sauce and then I used it with some strawberries placing them in the heated sauce, which I found super easy to use and once the choc sauce had hardened it tasted really yummy eating them. I liked how easy and mess free this product is and how you get a lot use out of the one pot, it would be very useful for a number of things and would save so much kitchen time.

It looks really cool drizzled over muffins for icing instead of using a whole layer I went for the drizzle effect and it looks awesome. I also used for a fruit platter to drizzle over some fruit like pineapple, strawberries, apple slices and banana and it looked really good and tasted yum to, I found it was a treat with the kids who sometimes can say they donâ ™t like fruit and would go for the sugary foods instead.

Overall the product is great and easy to use and I like the handy little pot as it doesnâ ™t take up much room. The cover top photo is inviting and looks delicious with the strawberries and the donuts on the picture. I would recommend this to friends and also buy this for the house hold as it is so quick to use and it takes the hassle out of having to melt the chocolate yourself and make a big mess. It would be an easier option for things like functions and kids parties when you got a lot of food to do and not a lot of time.

Dr. Oetker how I love you!!! These chocolate easy melts have completely changed my life and my ability to actually produce some beautiful looking chocolate dipped and drizzled products to share with family and friends, that actually look the part and taste amazing!

When I received the milk easy choc for review I was pretty excited as was Miss 4 who LOVES to help in the kitchen at any possible opportunity that arises. After reading the directions for use and realizing just what an easy and simple product this was I began to think up ways in which to use this, the first thing that sprung to mind was ice cream as it was a very hot and humid day and we had just finished eating dinner, I was a little worried about melting the chocolate to liquid form just for ice cream and nothing else but as I continued to read the packaging I realised that this was something I could actually do, without wasting the remaining product as it could be melted down, set again and then remelted, and although I wasn't exactly sure how many times this could be redone, I was pretty sure I was only going to need to redo this once, perfect.

I melted the chocolate in the microwave heating it at 20 second intervals until completely melted which didn't take more than a couple of minutes in total. While the chocolate had been melting I had dished some vanilla ice cream up into 3 bowls so it was ready to go, with a spoon I drizzled the chocolate over top and due to the temperature of the ice cream the chocolate set almost instantly, but I did however get enough time to add sprinkles to the top of Miss 4's. The chocolate on the ice cream tasted awesome and was silky and smooth, it reminded me of a chocolate product we used to use on ice cream when I was a child.

With just over half the tub of chocolate remaining and ready to be melted again 2 days later I decided to get it back out and do just that. Miss 4 and I had decided to use this to dip strawberries, mini meringues and banana into this and use it as our special snack for when we were going to watch a movie that evening. The chocolate melted just as good as it had the first time round and wasn't at all affected by being melted for a second time. The items were all very easy to dip, even for Miss 4 who got a tad grubby but had so much fun doing so, half an hour in the fridge and the chocolate was set to perfection! With about 1/4 of the tub left I pulled the chocolate moulds out from the pantry and decided to use it up this way, due to the thickness of the moulds I wasn't sure how they would work out but i'm happy to say it was a great success and when I checked on the chocolates an hour later they were done.

Without a doubt I am buying these easy melt Chocolates again they are incredible so much fun to make and create with and they taste great to.

I have noticed Dr. Oetker products on our supermarket shelves and looked at them with great interest however never had a need to buy them just yet so when the opportunity came up to request this product to review I jumped at the opportunity! I'm not the worlds greatest baker however I'm definitely not the worst either and do enjoy making yummy treats alongside miss 4 who simply adores to help. I've always wanted to be able to make glamorous cake toppers by melting chocolate along with being able to coat things with but the couple of times I've tried the chocolate hasn't worked properly and its just ended up a mess. This wonderful product however is a total life changer, its just so easy and so delicious! Without any doubts I will be buying this again and again!! I'm so excited about all sorts of different things I want to try with it.

To get started its as simple as peeling off the lid (which is easy to remove not like some brands out there) and putting the container in the microwave for the recommended time, stirring and then using! I had some fresh ripe strawberries ready for christmas day which I dipped before laying to rest on baking paper. Upon tasting these I was blown away that the chocolate actually tasted like real yummy milk chocolate, not the baking chocolate you'd normally associate with such products. Because I had taken the platter of these to our christmas day with family, I had a group of at least 13 adults and 6 kids who all got to try a chocolate coated strawberry. There wasnt a single person who didn't enjoy this product!

I have always, always wanted to achieve great restults like this and it finally happened. This product is literally going to mean I achieve greater products from my kitchen to share with family and friends; for that I am forever grateful. Thank you Dr. Oetker for creating such a top quality product! The number of uses this product has is endless and I am full of ideas for things I am going to use future packets that I purchase for. The rest of this container got dizzled over home made brownie and muffins which took them to the next level. So stoked to have found this product and really can't recommend it highly enough, totally no faults at all from me and overall a ten out of ten. Go out and try it today, you wont be disapointed!

This product is life changing! I have brought several of the cooking chocolate products over the years, and although they all do the job, they often have that cooking chocolate taste, and heating and melting the chocolate can be time consuming, and often end up with some of the chocolate burnt and then wasted. The easy choc, is true to label, whip off the foil seal, under the plastic lid, pop it into the microwave for thirty seconds, and bam, you have perfect cooking chocolate. For those of you who don't like microwaves, or simply don't own one, this can be heated with hot water.

I had strawberries ready for dipping, I had friends coming over and this was a simple dessert guaranteed to win the hearts of all. The chocolate was melted on the bottom, but had a crust on the top, a simple stir and it was pretty much all perfect. I dipped two punnets of strawberries, as I would pull them out and set them on the baking paper they were setting into perfect crusty chocolate shells, this was simply too easy.
I found when I finished I still had half the pack left, magic! I put the lid on and popped it into the fridge for another day.

The true test of any food product is always in the taste, my family knew this was a new product we were trying but of course the guests didn't. The taste and the end result was brilliant, as my husband stated, that's real milk chocolate, as he went in for thirds! I have to say though, that this does not taste like cooking chocolate, rather a perfect milk chocolate. A real game changer for busy households, who want to create something a little special with no fuss, and no challenges. I highly recommend that everyone gives Easy Choc a try.

For starters, I love the packaging. A gorgeous mint green which isn't seen on the shelves very often so all the Dr Oetker products have been very easy to spot. I've been using a similar product for a few years now. But it is in a very large squeezy bottle of chocolate truffle mix and has the same principles of heating it up in the microwave and then using it straight. But it can only be bought in the large size (1 litre I think?) so a much bigger comparative price tag.

The instructions were very simple to read and understand, and the short spurts of heat in the microwave meant you couldn't easily burn the chocolate. One thing I didn't like, however, was that it doesn't say if it can be used again once cooled and hardened completely (other than saying that if it does harden then you can bung it back in the microwave for short bursts). It also doesn't say how long it will last once opened. Or, if it must be discarded after the first day. The resealable lid implies otherwise but nothing to say!

I used the warmed mix to put in a piping bag as it melted so smooth and velvety without getting too hot. I used the one-use Multix piping bags which are plastic and the warmed chocolate didn't melt the bag at all. The smooth chocolate was so divine; a really lovely flowy milk chocolate taste that wasn't too strong or sweet. I drizzled it over a triple chocolate brownie and it made the brownie just that much better and complete without being overpowering.

I have occasionally purchased a pot of dipping chocolate when getting strawberries, and have always been disappointed at the outcome. The chocolate tends to be runny and end up everywhere but on the strawberry, and is notoriously difficult to clean off carpets and white t-shirts! So it was a challenge to find out how this new product could deliver.

My daughter and son-in-law are all chocolate connoisseurs, as are the children, so there was no lack of volunteers. We followed the instructions exactly, heating the container for exactly 30 seconds before attacking the contents. The original plan was to make small ice cream cones and dip the ice cream into the chocolate, but the day was so warm that the ice cream was melting fast so we decided to put the ice creams on to plates upside down and add some fruit before drizzling the chocolate over the top.

Although the chocolate was runny and spread beautifully over the ice cream and fruit, it set almost immediately - unlike its infamous supermarket produce department cousin. This made it much easier to manage as there was no mess; the chocolate landed exactly where we wanted it and stayed put. We experimented and found we could make little fans and lattice patterns which could be used to decorate pavlovas or cream cakes - something to bear in mind for future trials.

The children loved it. They liked the crispness and thought it was great with strawberries, although the raspberries we had also added to the plate were quite ripe and needed to be scraped up with a spoon. Not that this mattered; it was a fun dessert and one which we had a lot of pleasure making. Mr Seven added some blueberries and was keen to report that they tasted quite different.

The ease of use cannot be emphasised enough. A little goes a long way - after our experiment there was still more than half the pack left, and this was put away for another day (well out of reach of little explorers - and bigger ones as well!). Storage is simple; you just put the lid back on and put it in the pantry for next time. The melting process takes place in its own pot so there is no extra washing up or tidying away involved. A perfect convenience food!

Everyone thought the flavour was just right; strong, chocolatey, and more than enough to satisfy the urge for a chocolate fix. Although I don't normally eat milk chocolate, I tried a little in the interests of scientific research and found it was finer and stronger than most milk chocolate available in New Zealand so I would probably eat it in small amounts for a special occasion.
