Wilt in Nowhere product reviews

Henry Wilt is back! In a major publishing event, one of Britain's finest living writers returns with his greatest creation. Brilliantly written and bitingly funny, Tom Sharpe's indefatigable hero is pitted against the vices of an aristocratic pervert, the merciless greed of a politician's wife and the seedy underbelly of Britain's medical facilities, deftly exposing the farcical realities of small-town England and America.

I have to say I am a fan of Tom Sharpe and a fan of the previous three books about Henry Wilt, Eva, the quads, Inspector Flint and a whole host of other characters that have cropped up in the series.
This is Tom's first book in almost ten years, and although Tom is in his seventies, I sincerely hope it will not be the last book from the sharp pen of Tom.
Tom's humour varies from the farcical, slapstick, cutting or satirical and as such, can be enjoyed on many levels. A comic writer of epic proportions, Sharpe leads the field of comedic writers, and has maintained that lead for over thirty years. Whilst reading this book, I was laughing out loud, and that was maintained from the first page until the very last.
Sharpe is a first class writer, world class even, if only Americans understood his (or any English humour), and in my opinion, he has never been outdone by the likes of Ben Elton, Alan Coren and others.
As I say, I eagerly await his next book, and sincerely hope that Wilt will feature in that book.
A big thumbs up and a huge recommendation that anyone who appreciates good humour should buy this book. It really is worth it.

Product image for Dream of Asarlai - 2 - Power UnboundFor centuries, the Gadda have worked to keep their identity secret from the rapidly expanding human race. All this is now at risk - the most terrible of Gadda teachings, the Forbidden texts, have been stolen and the race is now on to find them.

Ione Gorton may have got her best friend back from Australia, but Maggie's elevation to the ranks of Guardians means that she's not around as much. So when Stephen O'Malley, almost the youngest ... more...
