As a parent one of the most difficult tasks can sometimes be trying to find healthy snack and meal ideas for your children. There is only so much fruit, popcorn, rice crackers and carrot sticks that a child can have before deciding they are sick of them or that they don't like them anymore, or in Miss 2's case her favourite saying of "I just want something else". I am always on the hunt for exciting new snack ideas which I can pop into her lunchbox which aren't full of sugars, colours and nasty added preservatives, which is vitally important to me as she does suffer from chronic allergies and the slightest nasty can trigger her eczema just like that.

When I saw these at my local New World I thought to myself these could be quite good to try, but I then looked at the price which had me umming and ahhhing a bit, $5.99 for a kids snack food seemed a little steep, especially as there was quite a high possibility that Miss 2 could turn around and tell me "I don't like that". I decided to grab them anyway as I was sick of feeling like Miss 2 had no variety in her lunchbox and so wanted to give her something different. The box was eye-catching with a cute and friendly looking pink monster on the front and a pile of strawberry yoghurt drops, the bright green writing made the writing stand out and the colour green to me suggested freshness.

I liked the fact that the yoghurt drops come in 5 handy sachets, so there is no need to worry about them going stale as you did with products in a single large bag and being in the sachets means its easy to pop one into a lunchbox quick as. They are gluten free, and only contain real fruit and yoghurt (as well as a bit of water) this suggested to me they really must be good for you. The drops are about the size of a raisin, and taste just like strawberry yoghurt, Miss 2 loved them and gobbled them down. quickly asking for more. The only issue which I have with these, which I guess is understandable is that if there not eaten quickly they go soft and saggy which may be a issue as Miss 2 sometimes likes to take her time eating, other than that they will make a great occasional snack though I would buy if I ever saw them on sale.

I've noticed that Kiwigarden has a range of other healthy snack like products such as corn kernels, apple slices, and yoghurt drops in flavours like mixed berry, kiwifruit and banana I will definetely be buying these to try if I see them on sale in the future.
