A Survival Guide For Life product reviews

The world-famous adventurer reveals a lifetime of wisdom and lessons learned from the planet's wildest places

Life in the outdoors teaches us invaluable lessons. Encountering the wild forces us to plan and execute goals, face danger, push our "limits," and sharpen our instincts. But our most important adventures don't always happen in nature's extremes. Living a purpose-driven, meaningful life can often be an even greater challenge....

In A Survival Guide for Life, Bear Grylls, globally renowned adventurer and television host, shares the hard-earned wisdom he's gained in the harshest environments on earth, from the summit of Mt. Everest to the boot camps of the British Special Forces. Filled with exclusive, never-before-told tales from Bear's globe-trekking expeditions, A Survival Guide for Life teaches every reader - no matter your age or experience - that we're all capable of living life more boldly, of achieving our most daring dreams, and of having more fun along the way.

Bear Grylls has such a natural writing ability, you feel like your just sitting on the couch with him and hes just telling you some life lessons. One of the best Personal Development books I have ever read. Its not the sort of book you can read all in one go as there is so much to take in and it took me over a week to finish it. Its definitely thought provoking.

Told over 75 'chapters'. Each chapter has a full page for the heading in big black bold writing. Then a break down of what the heading actually means. Then it is explained further by explanation, story, past memory, someone famous and just expands on it. The man is amazing failing the first time to become part of the UK Reserve Special Forces redoes it and passes it. Has a major accident which could of prevented him from ever walking again but conquers all odds and climbs Mount Everest, faced death numerous times but pushes himself to the limits and manages to survive each time. Truly an inspiration.

Its an incredibly uplifting book that makes you feel like you want to live life again. I loved his chapter about 'Changing Your Vocabularly, Change Your Attitude'. By making small changes in what you say can cause a postive vibration in your thinking. Like instead of calling it an Alarm Clock he calls it an Opportunity Clock because 'Alarm' signifies emergency that your life is in danger. Or he refuses to call it the weekend (week - end) that symbolizes surrender instead he calls it the Strong End because more can be done in those two days. The book is just full of simple easy remedies to help improve your mind and your lives.

To be honest never seen his television show but I have read his Mission Survival books and I love them the information I have learnt from those book is incredible, not that I am planning on having a plane crash on a mountain or be lost in the ocean with killer sharks around me or to be lost in Australia's dessert but if the situation does arise I have tucked some great tips away in my little noggin.
