We join the Doctor as he lands on Mars in 2059 and comes across a base on the planet.

When the Doctor enters the building he is detained by the crew but when he discovers who the team of people are he tries to convince them to allow him to leave as they are all meant to die but as he considers it a fixed point in time, he cannot save them. Naturally the Doctor gets drawn into the events but he still fights within himself to either save the crew or to walk away and let history unfold as it always has.

I find this to be a very good episode as it really delves into the inner battle of "do I save these people and possibly alter history or do I allow them to die and let history be "set" in stone". By the end of the episode the Doctor feels rather big and powerful yet is soon shown the error of his attitude. Lindsay Duncan is brilliant in her role as Adelaide and is such a powerful character, perfect for being side by side with the Doctor. I like the mention of a previous Doctor Who villain and the link to the next episode.

I really enjoyed this episode as it really digs more into the Doctor and his views on saving, or not saving, certain lives.
